Somewhere close to the palace
Yumi and Amon made their way through the once vibrant and bustling city turned desolate ghost town. With each passing step the loud explosions, vague war cries and sounds of metal clashing into each other grew fainter and fainter in to the distance. Yumi came to a halt in front of a wooden bench, she sat down holding tightly onto her side.
"we should be far enough to take a rest here now", Amon said, taking a seat beside her, Amon gently removed yumi's hand from holding her side, the once fresh bandages were starting to fill with blood,
"That medicine Jhaldir gave us really works, I'm in pain but it should be a lot worse than it is, I only really stopped cause I'd lose to much blood if I went and fought now", yumi said, she laughing as she did,
"I'll try something", Amon said, examining some of the stone bricks on the ground, after a moment, he drew his sword, using the tip he pried one loose. He tightened his grip on the brick he now held, placing his other hand above yumi's injury, a soft blue light emanated from both of his hands, as he mumbled a slurry of words beneath his breath,
"I think it worked", Amon said slowly opening his eyes, the light from his hands dying down, he could feel the brick in his hand crumble into dust, "it isn't much but it should've closed that wound", he said,
Yumi lifted the bandages slowly, revealing a short darkened scar on her side, "well that's gonna leave a mark", she said, pushing herself back to her feet, she had a somber look on her face, her eyes welling up with tears on the verge of falling, "Thanks Amon, today really turned out to be one heck of a day didn't it", she said, wiping her hand across her eyes.
"yeah it has, but I should be the one thanking you yumi", Amon said, still seated looking up at the grey sky in between the rooftops of the buildings,
"what are you thanking me for", Yumi said, a startled look pressed across her face,
"well, you've been by my side, had my back, and really came through for me and everyone else when we needed it, you've been the rock of our entire rebellion, and for me personally, even though I know it would've been easier to stay by Aluric's side, I can't imagine fighting to the death with the person I'm in love with", Amon said.
"I just wiped away those tears and here you are trying to make me cry", Yumi said, looking on towards the palace, "you and Aluric are brothers by blood, but for most of my life you've also been my brother also, fighting against Aluric and the prince is the right thing to do, knowing you're also doing it made it easier for me, besides you know I would never let you fight all of this, by yourself", Yumi said, gesturing her hands to the palace
"yeah you're right, and way to stubborn to change your mind once it's made up", Amon said, pushing himself up off of the bench,
"besides, even if he spends the rest of his life in a prison or if he dies here today, I'll always have a soft spot for Aluric, I know that much wont change", yumi said, "so ready to go put and ened to all of this madness", Yumi said,
Back with the boys
The ground rumbled and shook violently as Aster placed both of his hands onto the ground, Massive pillars of earth erupted from the city street all at once, their tips turned into clear crystalline spikes, coiling their way towards Aluric. He had a small but bright smiled stuck on his face from the moment the fighting had resumed, he was enjoying himself effortlessly weaving through the incoming pillars.
"You'll never touch me with attacks like these", Aluric said, jumping in the air, the two earthen pillars collided beneath his feet, "they're to easy to read",
He tilted his head to the side avoiding another pillar. Aster knelt on the ground, a smile running across his face, from above the last pillar Levant jumped over, his sights and Guns trained on Aluric, firing at once. His eyes widened at the loud sound of Levant's guns being fired, jumping back covering his face on instinct a wall of lightning shot down from the clouds, dispersing the bullets before they could hit him. A loud explosion shook the ground, Aluric was sent flying away from Levant, colliding with an incoming pillar from Aster, pushing him to the ground. As the dust cleared from the air, Levant rolled and tumbled to his knees from the force of the explosion, while Aluric propped himself up using one of Asters broken earthen pillars, his long red ponytail had become undone, his hair draped over his shoulders looking unkept and frazzled.
"As if I'd let you rest", Polaris said, his sword already mid swing as he appeared in front of Aluric, the white blade of Polaris' sword bore down on Aluric's arm bouncing off of it with a high pitched ring,
"you're sadly mistaken if you think an attack such as that would take me out", Aluric said, the golden tiger striped pattern fully engulfed his arm. Polaris looked on at Aluric in shock, the hand he held his sword in had been pushed into the air from the recoil of his attack leaving him wide open, Aluric's other arm surged with lighting, his palm faced toward Polaris, a bolt of lighting shot from it, into Polaris' stomach arcing upwards towards one of Aster's pillars, simultaneously Polaris formed a large shard of ice firing it at aluric, the blast pushed Polaris away from him, through the pillar and into the second floor wooden window of a building. Aluric raised his golden arm, taking the brunt of Polaris retaliation, pushing him back several feet, Lightning crackled over head, racing downwards towards Aluric.
"DON'T FORGET ABOUT ME PISS ANT", Barak shouted, Plummeting towards Aluric with his sword ready to attack,
"to think I would have to use this", Aluric said smiling to himself,
"UNHOLY WRATH: AZAZEL", Aluric shouted, his divine energy began to surge as a bright violent golden aura appeared around his body, Aluric crouched down tensing his legs, pushing himself up towards the incoming barak. Barak raised his hands but it was to late to stop Alurics attack, with the immense weight behind him, Alurics knee connected to Barak's chin, rocking his head backwards, with the momentum out of his fall, his limp body flailed all the way to the ground.
"BAARRAAAKKK", Aster shouted, witnessing one of his closest friends, his family being knocked out of the air, "UNHOLY WRATH: OKASH", Aster shouted, using one of his earth pillars to rocket himself towards Aluric, Cutting through the air Aster propelled himself above Aluric, his skin had returned to it's silver pigmentation, his hair burning white with divine energy, which had surged even greater causing a darker green aura to swirl around his body violently.
"So she even taught you all this form", Aluric said, his grin continuing across his face. Aster, blinded by his rage, swung down on Aluric ignoring his words, diamond tipped spikes grew from the face of his hammer again, colliding with the armor on Aluric's chest pushing him back to the ground.
"YOU"RE UP LEV", Aster shouted, his hand out stretched, summoning a pillar of earth to rise from the ground to stop his fall. Levant looked up as the descending Aluric made his way to him at a great speed.
"UNHOLY WRATH: OGURA", Levant shouted, steam rose from his skin, turning it to a blood red color, a single wing like that of a dragon's but made entirely out of fire sprouted from his back, and a horn of fire from his forehead. He aimed both guns at Aluric, Charging a ball of fire at their tips, it began to swell in size, changing from orange to blue to white hot, the earthen pillars that had been littered through the city streets began to glow cherry red from the heat alone,
"SIRIUS NOVA: RAMPAGE", Levant shouted, firing off the ball of fire. It raced towards Aluric, impacting him almost instantaneously, erupting in the sky as a massive white ball of flames and destruction, the tops of buildings disappeared, the red hot pillars of earth now charred and blackened, even the once wet stone streets had been dried, it felt as though the air itself had been lit on fire, as aster turned apart of the pillar he was on into a wall to shield himself from the effects of Levant's attack. The attack lit up the sky bathing everything in a hot white light, it was as if the sun itself had spawned in the city. As the light from the attack dimmed the ball of fire burst, flames falling from the sky onto the city. Soon silence followed in it's wake.
Outside of the palace
Yumi and Amon walked through the large white stoned walls which surrounded the Royal palace, a place where they once walked almost everyday now seemed like they were walking through them for the first time, unlike the city, which was desolate, deserted and devoid of life, which was only a mere few meters away, the inside of the palace walls seemed tranquil, still, almost stuck in time, only ever disrupted by the loud explosions from the raging battle outside of the city walls,
The palace itself was also white, with large elongated golden bricks at the edge of each wall and corner, with a large elaborate semi circular stairs, which seemed divided into for sections by golden bricks laid in between the white stone used in the majority of the stairs, at the end of the stairs stood a large white wooden door, the main entrance to the palace, on each side of the door stood a white pillar each one even larger than the door itself, and within the middle of everything stood a rather large figure, clad in a dark red armor, with a rather large sword laying on his shoulder,
"the infamous battle scientist of the artemis guild, Yumi Pasluv, and the once renowned warrior of our country's military, and famed adventurer of said artemis guild, Amon Varchen, this is as far as you go today", the large unknown figure said,
"that armor, the kings royal guard", Amon said, looking around noticing the white dracht sigil on his shoulder pauldron,
"and the captain of the guards to boot", amon finished, as a bright light white light bathed the area before dying down again,
"that heat just now, those boys are getting serious, but by the time their done the city may not be standing", yumi said,
"look just stand aside, we've come to talk with prince Ea and king Alexander", Amon said,
"nonsense, it is my duty to protect the royal family at all cost, for I am Kosh Bovard, the strongest knight employed by the king, my only superiors being that of the four pillars, guild master aluric and the king and prince, so as far as I'm concerned you are outclassed, especially in your pitiful state", Kosh said,
"keep singing those praises, if it helps you sleep at night", amon said, drawing for his sword, and taking a step forward,
"come at me then and I'll show why they praise me as the strongest", Kosh said taking a step forward and swinging down his at Amon,
A loud crashing sound was heard, in the blink of an eye two familiar green and gold swords accompanied by the large bare back mountain of a person who wield them appeared in front of Yumi and Amon, with one foot atop the blade of the captain of the guards, while holding one of his swords to the captain's helmet,
"you two get to going, I'll take care of my replacement, lets see how strong he is", Bard said, a large grin running across his face,
