After Hirvan was sure that Ren Mengsheng was settled into a peaceful sleep, he stepped away from the bedside. His eyes lingered on his son for a moment longer, the relaxed brows and forehead reassured him that, at least for now, his son was at peace. A sigh escaped Hirvan's lips, heavy with worry. Ren Mengsheng was a mess, and finding his true identity in such a way it appeared had affected him severely. He would never show his true feelings, too proud to let others see his struggles, even when he was clearly hurt this badly.
Hirvan turned away, his gaze moving across the apartment as he walked toward the small kitchen tucked into the corner of the room. Putting the kettle on, Hirvan opened the cabinets, glancing at noodles packages and canned foods, he raised an eyebrow. From what he could see, Ren Mengsheng had been staying here far more than he had let on. This place was not an abandoned hideout, daily necessities piled up in every corner contradicted that fact extremely.
