"Duel!" Raika suddenly demanded, her pride was wounded so much so that she had to stand up for herself.
Vex lifted an amused brow. "Right now, little sis? I mean, I'm down, but…"
Raika froze. She realized she couldn't move, let alone fight. Her lips parted as if to challenge the mockery, but no words came. She fell silent, only her violently burning eyes spoke of her strong protest.
I couldn't help but think that this was quite a rude motion from Vex. Not because she was messing with her injured ally, but because she couldn't give a damn about the death and misery surrounding us. The cries and wails of the beastkin continued endlessly, yet she was humming her happy little song while doodling a stocky, gentlemanly mustache on Raika's face.
That being said, I couldn't say I was surprised. For a woman of her career choice and longevity in said career, she must've become entirely desensitized to death. It did not seem to affect her one bit.
