Doris's massive, mountainous form trembled intensely. All those giant spiders of at least Twenty Third Rank that were not reclaimed by Him, gathered around His main body, helping together to resist the Master of Spiders' oppressive authority.
Charles pondered for a moment and then decided to share this authority with Lilith. His relationship with Lilith was extraordinary, with a most subtle connection between them; he could choose to not share, or he could choose to share.
But Charles felt that sharing the Master of Spiders' authority could help resolve Doris, and he didn't mind sharing this authority, so he simply went ahead and did it.
Doris never expected that Charles would actually share a portion of the authority with him!
He was even more baffled about how Charles had silently usurped the Master of Spiders' authority.
