"Consider this: is there a possibility that Niusen introduced me to Temir with bad intentions from the start? He knew that you and I have been in California these past few days, and you are a man of the Great Commander, Jared. This matter is more complicated than we thought."
Alex was now viewing Niusen as a ruthless player, which is why he came up with this line of reasoning.
"But why smash the car? What's that supposed to achieve?"
At this point, Jared thought of Sheriff Gru, his pupils shrinking.
If that black kid got handed over to the LAPD, it would mean this whole affair has come full circle.
Alex, looking at his silent friend, mused aloud.
"I always feel that we've been used by Niusen. The people who attacked you were controlled by Niusen's bodyguards, and the LAPD is under Niusen's influence. If he only slightly manipulates that black kid, you'd be in a passive position."
