As expected, gambling brings momentary joy, but constant gambling leads straight to the crematorium!

She can't even afford barbecue—how tragic.

In the end, Kazuki couldn't escape the fate of treating Tsunade and Shizune to barbecue.

Tsunade and Shizune devoured the food like they hadn't eaten in days, wolfing it down at an alarming rate.

Kazuki admitted the work meals at the Hokage's office weren't exactly gourmet, but did they really need to eat like this? Their cheeks were stuffed to the brim while their eyes stayed glued to the grill, and Tsunade was boldly downing bottles of sake like a champion.

"'Burp!' Shizune, go back and organize the files for me. I'll be back soon," Tsunade ordered once Shizune had eaten her fill.

Wanting to keep taking advantage of Kazuki's generosity, she sent Shizune back to the office and pulled Kazuki aside. "Come on, drink with me!"

"No way."

Kazuki refused flatly.

The last time he drank with Kurenai, he ended up drinking himself to her place. With Tsunade in this state, he feared he might accidentally drink himself into a disaster—after all, this was Grandma Tsunade!

"Drink with me! Drink!!"

"..."

Kazuki didn't expect Tsunade to abandon all decorum when drunk.

She grabbed his neck with one hand, pressing his head against her chest so tightly he almost suffocated. Left with no choice, Kazuki surrendered and agreed to drink with her just to escape her grip.

'I knew this was a bad idea.'

Staggering home with a completely plastered Tsunade slung over his shoulder, Kazuki felt like the world was spinning.

'What now?'

'How should I know?!'

The ANBU squad assigned to protect Tsunade watched the scene unfold in stunned silence. This situation was far beyond their pay grade, and there was no way they could step in. All they could do was watch helplessly as Kazuki carried the drunken Tsunade back to his house.

"Drinking at your age? And cheating like this? I'm done with you," Kazuki grumbled, his nausea growing worse.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he got. Lifting his hand, he smacked Tsunade's rear twice.

Smack!

The crisp sound of the slaps echoed in the quiet night, and the hidden ANBU squad covered their faces in despair.

They wished they could pretend they hadn't seen anything.

Tsunade wiggled slightly after the smacks. "Stop it."

"Stop it? My foot! You deserve it," Kazuki snapped, delivering two more slaps. Afterward, he muttered to himself, "Huh, nice and firm."

"..."

When Kazuki finally reached his home and tried to unlock the door, he noticed someone crouching on his roof—it was a bewildered Shisui.

Waving his hand, Kazuki called out, "If it's important, tell me tomorrow. I'm busy right now."

"I need a bath. I want to sleep..." Tsunade started whining as she felt uncomfortable, making Kazuki groan as he fumbled with the keys. In frustration, he gave her two more smacks.

"Quiet down. I want to sleep too."

"..."

Watching Kazuki repeatedly smack Tsunade on the rear, Shisui's eyes nearly popped out of his head. Noticing the approaching ANBU squad, Shisui decided it was best to retreat immediately.

'It's probably better to forget everything I saw tonight,' he thought.

But how was he supposed to report this to the clan head?

When Shisui arrived at the Uchiha clan's main estate, Fugaku, who hadn't gone to bed yet, gestured for him to sit down.

"Have you spoken to Kazuki? What position did he arrange for you?"

Shisui was in a difficult spot. The police force was no longer an option, and his reputation within the clan wasn't great either. Fugaku was unsure where to place him, so he sent him to Kazuki for guidance.

Shisui hesitated before replying, "I met him, but we didn't have time to discuss that."

Fugaku frowned and barked, "Report truthfully!"

'What's wrong with you, Shisui? You've been normal for a few days, and now you're acting strange again.'

"Yes."

Shisui steeled himself and recounted what he had seen in full detail.

"'Cough, cough!'"

Fugaku suddenly started coughing and, with a serious expression, warned Shisui, "You saw nothing tonight. Go home and rest. And you weren't here—you didn't report anything to me. Understand?"

It was best not to get involved in matters like this.

As for Kazuki and Tsunade... whatever was going on, they could handle it themselves. The Uchiha clan wasn't about to get entangled in it.

"..."

Shisui was speechless. 'You were the one who wanted to know! How is this my fault now?'

Both Shisui and the ANBU squad were left in awkward positions, unsure whether to intervene or leave Tsunade with Kazuki. They had already broken protocol by entering Uchiha territory, and stepping further in might lead to punishment.

Fortunately, the misunderstandings between the Uchiha and the village had been resolved, so there was no longer constant surveillance.

If this had been before, an ANBU squad setting foot in Uchiha territory would have triggered immediate backlash.

Meanwhile, Kazuki was oblivious to their predicament. All he wanted was to get home and sleep.

As for Tsunade's rather... exaggerated figure, he hadn't even noticed.

'If I ever drink with you alcoholics again, I'll be a dog!' Kazuki swore to himself as he woke up, his head pounding like it was about to explode.

This hangover was worse than the aftereffects of overusing his Sharingan, chakra, mental energy, and ocular power.

'Huh? When did Kurenai grow so much?'

Noticing he was holding what felt like two small watermelons, Kazuki reluctantly opened his eyes, only to freeze completely.

What he saw wasn't Kurenai's brown hair but blonde locks.

'Am I hallucinating?'

'Blonde hair?'

There weren't many blonde women he was close with—just one, in fact.

'Oh, crap.'

'I'm going to die.'

Upon closer inspection, he realized that the disheveled figure in his arms was Tsunade, her clothes askew. Kazuki immediately sobered up.

At that moment, even his splitting headache was forgotten.

Quickly.

Quietly.

He slipped his hand out from under her, but feeling short-changed, he couldn't resist giving a firm squeeze before jumping out the window.

'Thank goodness I woke up early. If I had slept in, I'd be facing an enraged Tsunade by now.'

Massaging his throbbing temples, Kazuki made his way to the police headquarters.

"Captain?" Izumi greeted him excitedly as he arrived.

"Don't ask. Go buy me a change of clothes—I need to freshen up," Kazuki ordered, holding back a barrage of questions from her.

He decided to clean up at the police department and asked Izumi to fetch him new clothes. Showing up to an appointment in wrinkled, alcohol-reeking clothes wasn't an option.

"Got it."

Izumi obediently went to prepare the change of clothes.

After freshening up, Kazuki felt the lingering effects of his hangover fade. Donning a crisp new outfit, he left the headquarters for his appointment.

At the agreed meeting spot, Hiashi was already waiting for him.
