The police interrogated us for weeks; luckily, the security footage gave us our alibi. It still hurts to watch Eric die. Today is his funeral. Dimitri and Reign have consistently checked on me, tending to my every need and heartache. I'd wake up crying, and one of them would hold me in their arms to comfort me until I fell back asleep. Eve, Tanya, Zeus, and Deacon died that night, but Eric, Eric, is who mattered to me. I could still hear him coming up the stairs to greet me. I hurt so badly in my heart.
Watching Eric being lowered into the ground caused me to fall into a drunken tailspin. I did love him. He has always protected me ever since I lost my parents. Now I lost him. The one man I loved more than I thought I could. He was gone now.
"I'm sorry, Ivy," Dimitri apologized.
"Why are you sorry? You never cared for him," I snorted.
"You're drunk, so we're going to chalk that up to you grieving," Reign replied.
"Oh, please!" I raised my voice.
"Ivy, stop," Dimitri warned.
"Fuck-"
Dimitri threw me over his shoulder as Reign followed suit with a crystal bottle of whiskey.
"Put me down!" I ordered.
"No!" Dimitri denied with a hard slap on my ass.
"Ow!" I winced.
"I won't let you make an ass of yourself at your best friend's funeral!" Dimitri snapped.
Before I could react, I got thrown down on a bed. Dimitri locked the three of us in the room before sitting in front of the fireplace with Reign. They both arrogantly sat there sipping on the expensive whiskey. I walked over and bit my bottom lip.
"Let me have some?" I asked.
They held out a glass already poured for me. I gratefully took it before sitting on the fur rug before the flames. It was storming outside again, and the blizzard was roaring outside. I sat there silently, watching the orange shades flicker in the fireplace. A warm hand on my shoulder snapped me out of my hypnotic state.
"Sorry," I mumbled.
I felt another warm hand on the opposite shoulder and relaxed into their warm touch.
"Turns out, Tanya didn't even like me. I'm not sure if I wanted her or used her myself," I admitted, "I don't think I cared for Zeus either, but I did care for Eric."
"He loved you," Dimitri commented.
I wiped the silent tears trickling down my cheek while drinking more champagne, "I know. I don't think I loved him the same. What's wrong with me? I should be hurting, but I'm happy."
I turned to face the both of them, the two looking at one another in confusion.
"W-what are you talking about?" Reign hesitated.
"Zeus is dead; Eve is dead; Tanya, the lying bitch is dead; Deacon wretched self is dead. The only mishap is Eric, but the other deaths make me happier than I ever thought possible."
"Why?" Dimitri asked.
I took another swig of champagne. "I met with the lawyer today before the funeral, and Zeus left me everything. I'm not a billionaire. I own all of his businesses and property. It's all mine."
I looked over at Reign, who had a smirk on his face, "I have plenty of money."
"Good. Did you want the castle?" I offered.
"No," he said, "I have my own home."
"Where at?" I questioned.
"In Ireland," he replied.
My mouth dropped in shock, "I didn't know.
"Well, I'm going to sell the mansion and move back to California. The bar he left me is almost ready to open. I plan to start my life over down there. Something refreshing and new."'
Reign dropped his head, although he didn't look surprised, "I planned on flying back home tomorrow morning. I need to check on my business."
"I have to go back to New York," Dimitri said, "My business with Roy is still going strong, and he needs me back."
"This is the last time I'm going to see both of you for a while," I commented. Why not make it worth it?"
I passionately kissed Reign before doing the same to Dimitri. They both entrapped me in both of their embraces—the familiar kiss to the back of my neck by Dimitri, followed by Reign sickling my breasts. Dimitri was rough and yet gentle as he pressed his thumb into my ass. It wasn't as painful as before. It was an exquisite burn that I longed for.
When Reign joined the suit, he shoved two fingers ruthlessly inside my wet opening. I arched back into Dimitri, seizing a lock of his hair.
"More!" I begged.
They both didn't hesitate. I couldn't help but squirm when I felt both of them slide inside of me, stretching me out like elastic. They fucked me unconscious. When I woke up alone, I couldn't help but be happy. No one. No strings attached, no holds. For the first time in a long time, I was free.
