Chapter 175 - Touji

Pov General,

The Shidou family, including Touji and Irina Shidou, returned from a small family restaurant where Irina had a great time.

After putting his daughter to bed, Touji went to relax in the living room, but he did not expect to see May Eucus, the most eminent figure in the city.

Touji: "What are you doing here, May Eucus?"

May: "I just came to chat with you."

Touji: "You have no right to enter private property like that."

May: "This couldn't wait. Who knows if you would have refused my request for an interview?"

Touji: "I would have been there."

May: "Oh really? Even if it was to talk to a devil?"

May's form began to change, giving way to Dia.

Touji immediately grabbed the sacred sword that was next to the sofa and drew the blade.

Touji: "So the most eminent person in town was the Crimson Princess."

Dia: "Indeed. Now, put the blade back in its sheath before I decide to get serious."

Despite what she said, Touji did not lower his sacred sword.

Touji: "You've got some nerve, bringing yourself into my home, monster."

Dia: "As I expected, it's impossible to have a proper discussion with you. You're too prejudiced. So, let's get straight to the point."

Runes illuminated the room, and Dia's aura expanded, suffocating Touji.

Dia: "A few days ago, a devil named Cleria Belial was murdered. Do you know anything about this?"

Touji: "I won't say anything to someone like you."

Dia sighed, her expression turning serious.

Dia: "It seems you don't care much about your daughter's life."

Touji: "Leave her out of this!"

Dia: "You're the one choosing not to cooperate. I ask questions, and you answer. It's simple. If you refuse, I'll make your daughter endure things so horrible that death would seem like a mercy."

Dia: "And, of course, I would make sure she knows it's all because of her father—because you don't love her. I wonder if you'd enjoy watching her suffer?"

In reality, since Irina was just a child, even the slightest form of torture would be unbearable for her.

Dia was never a fan of torturing children; she only wanted to extract all the information from Touji.

Touji: "Okay, I'll tell you everything—just leave her out of this, please."

Dia: "Of course. I only need you to answer my questions. What do you know about this case?"

Touji explained that he had received orders from his superiors to kill the devil because one of his colleagues had a love affair with her.

Of course, Dia sensed there was more to this story.

Dia: "So, because of your superiors' orders, you killed the governess of this city?"

Touji: "How could a monster like her be a governess?"

Dia: "This city belongs to me, so I decide who governs it. That was Cleria's role. I also allowed the church to settle here to foster a closer relationship, but it seems some do not respect their superior's wishes."

Touji: "I followed my superiors' orders, so I have nothing to reproach myself for."

Dia: "I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about your superiors who disregarded the will of the angels. They knew this city belonged to me and had promised not to cause trouble with devils unless they were wandering. Your superiors have betrayed the angels."

Touji: "They would never do that."

Dia: "Oh, really? They were the ones who murdered witches because they envied their gifts. They were the ones who massacred tens of thousands of people simply because they followed a different religion—even if it was still biblical, just under a different name. Don't be naive. Not all members of the clergy are saints; most are as filthy as devils."

Touji: "You're lying."

Dia: "Then go ahead and investigate. But be careful—you might end up dead because they don't like anyone digging into their affairs."

After their conversation, Dia declared that the church would no longer be allowed in the city unless Touji's superiors came to apologize at her feet—which she knew would never happen.

When she asked him where the couple's bodies were, he admitted he didn't know.
