Erick watched as Elise and Diana walked through the gate. The whole castle was rejoicing. But to Erick it felt all very anti-climatic. One moment he was on the verge of dying, the other the beast's corpse was dangling, nailed to the wall.
He followed behind them, lost in his thoughts. He was feeling a bit lost and frustrated. It had been a while since he was at the mercy of others.
'No matter how much I have leveled up, I am still an ant in front of monsters of that level.' Erick sighed as he watched level 37 Hunter blinking above the newcomer.
"You have done well, boy!" Themen shouted at him. They were in the same group, but he had been together with the other knights when retreating. Erick only nodded at him and walked away.
Some people were already busying themselves with cleaning up the area. If Erick hurried he might have gotten a few mana cores. Maybe even from the warbeast. But Erick kept walking.
