Adonai:
Gothica... so this little brat has an awfully edgy name. But is that...
"Aren't you a bit too young to drink alcohol?" I asked her without any hesitation.
Obviously she got quite angry, at least her face is expressing something similar to anger, but I can't help it when I remember the 'discussion' we had earlier.
She just looks too much like a child to not make the joke.
"I told you once and I'll tell you again, I just look like a child, I'm not a child, but if you're dead determined to I invite you to my room."
She said, giving me a devious smile, her demeanor being a bit different from our first encounter when she was overly energetic.
This time she's wearing a black dress, the crown and her eyes remaining unchanged. I'm starting to wonder if the flower crown is part of her head at this point.
"I'm sorry but I'll have to refuse, I don't know about intergalactic laws but I can't take chances being seen even with a supposedly not child."
She sighed.
"You'll come to regret it. Anyway if that's not for your interest what about joining me for a game?"
She proposed nonchalantly, extending her hand to me.
"You seem a lot more calm than before. You gave quite an impression the first time we met." I said while taking a seat at the opposite side of the table. Fully intending to go along with this charade.
*Ahem*
"A lady needs to know when to be proper and when to be her real self. What you're witnessing right now is merely my public facade."
But there is still one problem.
"I'll take you up on the offer but there's still a problem. I don't know the rules of this type of poker."
She looked at me puzzled, not being able to understand how I can not know this. Probably she depicted me in her head as some kind of monkey that just came out of the stone age.
But the realization soon hit her, just as she hit her palm with the fist, realizing that I'm in fact human and I've not been around or in this mess for a lot.
"Don't worry, the cards will tell you how to play." She said, making fun of the whole situation if I have to say.
But I took a closer look at my cards and she was right, the cards... in my eyes... they are glowing.
"You see when you enter this game and you look at the cards, even if you don't know how to play, the rules are becoming like second nature. Magic can be used for a lot of things, and take it from a woman as old as me, you still have a lot to learn."
...
"So I should call you an old woman instead of a child?"
Throwing a card as sharp as a knife right next to my ear she stopped me.
"Let's just play and I'll pretend your comments are just compliments instead of blatant insults that might bring your demise if you keep them going."
And so we started playing.
One round.
Two rounds.
...
And so we kept going for a long while, focused on the game, soon more and more people at the table kept leaving, and fewer stayed to witness.
The score is tight and we're in the last round, winner takes all.
"All in" She said.
So far her expression has been still, you can't really read her while playing, and that only made this more interesting.
"I call."
I have a good hand and I know I can win, there's a 50/50 chance at this point, she might be bluffing or not but there's no way I can tell.
"You know, all the steps we take might as well be a coinflip on their own, you don't know what will happen if you'll take one step further, one step behind, or stand still. In essence every choice is bad for someone who doesn't like change. Turn the volume up a bit. I LOVE THIS SONG!" She exclaimed...
I might be mistaken but she seems a bit... uh.... drunk?
