Even though Sterl was right in front of him, this Lord acted as though he hadn't noticed, quietly sitting cross-legged on the ground, motionless, like a statue.
Sterl couldn't be bothered with him. Whether this Lord was a madman or simply neurotic, it didn't matter. As long as he was a living being, Sterl could plant the followers' mark on him. Once the mark was placed, the Lord would be his to command.
"Your strength is impressive. My forces happen to be lacking someone who can manage the situation. You're just barely strong enough, so I'm giving you a chance,"
Sterl said, speaking as though he were offering a favor.
Though it sounded insulting, Sterl had absolute confidence in this area. It might seem as if the Lord was becoming his follower, but what was Sterl? He was destined to reach the pinnacle. As the saying goes, "When one person attains the Dao, even the chickens and dogs ascend to heaven." For anyone to align with him was undoubtedly a great stroke of luck.
