At this point, no matter how much anger and resentment boiled inside him, it was all in vain.
"Fine, ten is good enough, after all. It's still quite impressive," he muttered to himself.
Taking a deep breath, his turbulent emotions slowly calmed down.
Contentment brings peace, he reminded himself. Sometimes, overreaching in the pursuit of something only leads to failure. Sterl always believed that strength brought surprises. As long as he was strong enough, everything he lost would eventually return to his control.
"Even though I couldn't refine all the mother souls, at least the souls they gathered have all ended up in my pocket," he muttered, his frustration fading even further.
With a total of twenty-seven mother entities, the souls he'd acquired now numbered over four hundred million. Adding them to the souls he had left, his total had surpassed five hundred million. And all of them were souls of normal beings. If he refined them all, that would be five million soul power!
