Amasu rushed, darting out like a mad man, pasted the kingdom's borders and straight into the forest.
Once deep enough in the forest, Amasu paused to take in a deep breath and then let go.
"There's nothing quite like fresh forest air", Amasu spoke as he felt the gentle breeze of the forest air blow through him, carrying a pleasant scent of damp earth, timber, and green.
Amasu then had the sound of something rustling within some bushes behind him. A sly smirk then formed on his face, recalling that he didn't venture all the way to the forest to simply soak in the ambiance as he placed an arm on his bladed in anticipation of whatever great beast laid hidden within the bushes.
The rustling continued and as it did Amasu's heart raced with excitement, wondering what kind of beast it was, with image him facing massive terrifying monster whose gaze alone inspired only fear before swiftly slaying with his blade forming his mind. Amasu could not wait to face one of the great beast's that laid within the forest with the image of him arriving back home, his blade stained with fresh beast blood while hold the head of mighty beast, the people of Buganbal awe struck by his prowess as beast slaying, singing his praises and his father looking at him with pride in his eyes.
Amasu was cut of his train of thought once he noticed something begin to make it was way out the forest. Quickly drawing his blade, he readied himself for what he anticipated to a truly epic battle between him and a great beast.
Then it emerged, a beast unlike any other had ever seen before, with dark beady eyes and white it looked at Amasu, it gaze intrigued and curious. While Amasu on his other hand felt his eye begin to twitch with shock.
"WHAT ON EARTH ARE YOU!!!!" he yelled out at the beast with stood at a height no greater than a feet, with a fluffy fur coat, rolled ball shaped body, and an appearance melted hearts instead of instilling fear in them.
The beast, seeing the fury and outrage in Amasu's eyes, hurriedly scurried away out of fear.
Amasu, then let out a frustrated sigh.
"Damn it, this forest is supposed to be a dangerous place timing with all kinds of fearsome monsters, so where are those bloody beasts", Amasu yelled out in frustrating.
Meanwhile, in the other side of the forest, Anja and Braiba roamed about through the forest, with Anja, still upset with what Braiba did during breakfast, wearing grumpy and upset face while hovering in the air over Braiba.
"Come on Anja, how many times do I have to say I'm sorry", Braiba spoke apologetically.
"That was a dirty trick and you know it", said Anja.
"How was that a dirty trick, you were the dumb one for lying on your seat after you were done eating. All I did was leave once I was done", said Braiba.
"It was still a dirty trick", Anja huffed and pouted like a child.
Braiba just let out a breath at how immature her breath was being, unable to believe he was still made about having to the dishes even it was technically his fault for not just leave when he was done. An idea then formed in Braiba's mind on how to get Anja to stop being angry with her.
Braiba then, without warning, ran off, leaving her brother, who upon seeing her dart away, flew after her, yelling, "Braiba wait up".
Braiba ventured deeper in to the forest, frantically searching through the bushes for something. After a while of searching she finally found it, a small bush filled with bright organge little berries.
"Braiba, why…" Braiba stuff a hand full of the berries in to her brother's mouth, who, upon tasting their delectable flavor sharp and sweet, felt his entire body be overwhelmed by its taste.
"uhmm belic berries", Anja who a satisfied look on his face and swallowed the berries.
He then turned to his sister and saw her holding a massive pile of the berries in hands and next to her a bush filled with even more berries. Anja then like a child seeing his treat, lunged himself straight to his sister and the belic berries on her hands only to be abruptly stopped by his halting him in place with before he could reach her.
"You can only have these if you stop being mad at me and admit that it was your fault for not leaving the dining table", said Braiba.
"What?" Anja spoke, taken aback by her demands.
Braiba then grabbed a handful of the berries and stuffed them in to her mouth.
"Uhmm, so good. Better make up your mind Anja otherwise I won't share any of these delicious belic berries with you", said Braiba as reveled in the sweet delectable tasted of the berries with a sly smile on her face, much to Anya's annoyance
Anja then gritted his teeth as he watched Braiba continue to eat ting the berries before letting out a defeated sigh and saying, "Fine".
Braiba upon hearing Anja said grin before saying, "Fine what?"
"Fine I won't be mad with you any more", Anja spoke with a defeated expression on his face.
"And?" Braiba added.
"And it was my fault for not leaving the table after I was done eating", Anja spoke begrudgingly with a small pout which caused Braiba to let out a soft giggle before freeing him from her magical binds, sending him falling straight to the ground.
"Here", Braiba handed him some of the belic berries which Anja accepted playful smile on his face. The two then enjoyed the berried, with Anja stuffing his belly full with as many as he could.
They then heard a loud cry coming from the forest.
"What was that?" asked Anja as he swallowed down a handful of berries.
"I am not sure but whatever it was it sounded like it's in some kind of danger" Braiba spoke, her tune filled with worry and concern as she wondered if poor innocent creature of the forest was in some kind of trouble.
"Come on Anja, let's go and see where the sound came from maybe we can find what made that sound" said Braiba before she and Anja left, looking for what made the sound.
Meanwhile in another part of the forest, Amasu had just trapped a small creature in a trap he set himself. The trap was basic, consisting of a small pit cover with some leave and foliage from the surrounding forest, and some placed on to serve as bait for the beast. It took a while before after a little waiting, he managed to get something
The creature he caught was a familiar small, covered in white fur, had no razor shape claws or teeth and did not look like it could harm anyone and was shaped like a ball.
The creature cried out as it feared what Amasu might do to it and its cries were what Anja and Braiba heard.
Amasu was greatly disappointed when he saw the creature he had captured as he wanted to capture a great beast whose strength a power would make the bravest and mightiest of warrior flee in fear but much to his disappointment all he could catch was that small creature was that very same creature that scurried off away from him earlier.
"I spent the entire day setting this trap and this is what I get, a white fur ball who looks like it couldn't even harm a fly" said Amasu who was greatly disappointed.
He then looks at the creature which was now shivering and shaking out of fear.
As Amasu watched this he pitied for the poor creature, not having the heart to harm such defenseless and adorable little thing.
He then bent down to the pit and stretched in an attempt to free the creature. Then, out of nowhere, a powerful gust of wind blew and sent him flying and slamming straight in to a nearby tree.
As Amasu slow began to regain consciousness, the first thing saw two strange kid about his age; a boy who seemed to be floating in midair and a girl standing next to him, they were none other than Braiba and Anja.
Braiba then vanished and reappeared in front him to examine him more closely.
"Who are you?", Braiba innocently asked.
"AHH!!!" Amasu yelled before stumbling back in terror upon seeing Braiba vanish and reappear in front of him.
Anja then noticed the Amasu had trapped. It small and frightened, it's body rolled up in a ball while looking at him with scared little eyes.
Anja then spotted the creature the pit and then wasted no time in leaping in to go get it. He managed to get the creature, and then used the wind to lift him with the creature out the pit
"It's okay little guy", he petted the now freed creature.
"I'm not going to hurt you", he spoke softly before allow the creature go, hopping off his hand and scurried off as fast as its tiny little legs would allow.
Anja then shifted his gaze to Amasu who was still stumped over by the side of a tree, Braiba looked down on him curiously, having never seen anyone in the forest apart from him, herself and their parents.
"Where're you from" Braiba curiously asked Amasu, who upon getting over his initial shock over her appearing in front of him, found himself smiting by just how beautiful she looked up close.
"I…" the words failed to come out his mouth as blush formed on his cheeks.
"Isn't it obvious who he is and where he came from", said Anja approached Amasu, his eyes beginning to glow like light with thin lightning sparks trickling through his body.
Amasu looked at the glow in his eyes, seeing the fury and rage that laid behind them along with the crackling lightning flowing through his body.
"Wait a second", Amasu mumbled underneath his breath.
"His eyes are glowing like and you just vanished and reappeared in front like…magic", his eyes widened in realization before jolting up on to his two feet and swiftly bringing out his blade.
"Storm maker and sorceress", he spoke, his voice laced with fear.
"Buganbalian", Anja spoke, his voice booming like thunder with anger and bitter behind his words, having figured who was as the people knew that would dare to treat the inhabitants of the forest, especially something as adorable as the white fluffy ball shaped creature were Buganbalians.
Braiba sense then tension in the air, turned to her brother.
"Anja, could you please calm down", she whispered softly to him.
"Calm down, he's a Buganbalian. Have you forgotten what mum and dad told us, there dangerous", Anja spoke with thunder in his voice.
"Look at him, does he look dangerous to you", Braiba spoke while pointing at Amasu who, despite his best attempts to hide, had trembling that struggled to maintain the grip of his sword.
Anja upon hearing what his sister said, looked at Amasu was clearly terrified of the both of them, before gritting and taking a breath. His eyes stopped glowing and the sparks of lightning on his body vanished.
Braiba smiled at her, thankful she had managed calm Anja down. She then shifted her gaze to Amaze and walked towards him.
"Stay away Sorceress. I won't let you charm me with you magic", Amasu spoke, trying to put on a brave face as he held his sword while obviously being flustered with flashed cheeks as Braiba approached him.
Braiba, now in front of him, simply giggled at his remark. Seemingly unfazed by the blade he held defensively against her, she spoke with sweet smile on her face, "I'm Braiba and the grumpy little idiot over there is my brother. What's your name?"
Amasu upon hearing Braiba's words was taken aback and for a moment felt his heart flutter as he gazes at her, seeing her glow underneath the sun's golden rays and the blowing against her hair.
"I…I'm…" Amasu did not get a chance to complete his sentence before a magical portal opened up behind them, then a beast jumped out of it. The sight of the beast stopped Amasu in his tracks, quickly grabbed hold of Braiba and then leaped out of the beast's way.
The beast walked on all four legs like any order animal, it was massive, covered head to toe with dark fur, had teeth and claws so sharp that they were like the blades of a mighty sword with a tale they had a sharp bony spike on its end and with blood red eyes, this beast was truly a monstrous thing.
"What kind of Sorcery is this?" said Amasu thinking that the beast was summoned by Anja and Braiba, and that he was a fool to have let his guard down especially when faced with a storm maker and sorceress.
"This beast wasn't our doing you Buganbalian" yelled Anja enraged by that Amasu would think that they summoned the beast.
A smile then formed on Amasu's as he looked at the beast, thinking that he had now found a ferocious beast worthy to be killed by him.
Amasu, without much of a thought in his mind charged straight for the beast.
He tried to strike the beast down with his sword but the beast was too fast and strong to be killed by Amasu.
The beast dodged all Amasu's attempts to strike it down with his sword and then attacked him with its claws, wounding him in the process.
Amasu was now on the ground wounded with the beast on top of him about to drive the spike on its tale through his chest, ending his life instantly.
"Should we help him" Braiba asked her brother as both of them watched as the beast was about to finish Amasu off.
"No, he said it himself. He wanted something fierce and dangerous, he got his wish" said Anja not wanting to help Amasu.
"But still, if we don't help, the beast will end him" said Braiba.
"And so, why should we care about what happens to the Buganbalian they didn't care about us when they forced every single magical creature out of Buganbal" said Anja not wanting to help Amasu because he was a Buganbalian.
"Yes brother but he doesn't seem all that bad and…" Braiba paused as she recalled how Amasu save her from the beast as it appeared from the portal.
"He did save him", she spoke in hushed tones but loud enough for Anja to hear.
Anja sighs, knowing his sister had a point. Gritting his teeth in annoyance and watching as Amasu faced the beast all by himself while thinking to himself that there was no way such a fool could ever hope to defeat so a formidable and fierce beast. And as much as it pained him to help out a Buganbalian, he did save his sister from that bveast
"Just so you know I find no joy in helping a Buganbalian" said Anja.
Braiba then smiled at her brother, happy that he could put anger and hatred towards the people of Buganbal aside and do the right thing.
The beast was about to finish Amasu but just before it could drive its spike in to him Anja blasted it with a lightning bolt that flew out of his bare hands.
"Why did you save me" asked Amasu shocked that Anja, a Storm Maker would save him from a beast.
"Thank my sister, if I had my way I would have let that beast finish you off" said Anja as he helped Amasu up.
The beast got up and set its sights on Anja and Amasu was about to attack Anja and Amasu before it could reach them Braiba used her magic to stop it in it tracks and then sent it flying deep in to the forest.
"That takes care of that" said Braiba.
"Indeed sister but we still have one more matter to deal with" said Anja as he turned to Amasu.
"What do we do with him" asked Anja as he grabbed Amasu and lifted him off the ground with one arm.
"Let me go" said Amasu as he struggled to free himself from Anja's grip.
"Let him go Anja" said Braiba.
Anja then sighed before he tossed him aside to the ground.
"You are no fun sister" said Anja.
Braiba then went to help Amasu up.
Braiba saw that Amasu was hurt; wounded by the claws of the beast as it attacked him.
"You are hurt" said Braiba as she tried to touch the Amasu's wound.
"Don't touch me, sorceress" said Amasu, stopping her from touching his wound.
"Trust me, I won't hurt you I promise" said Braiba.
Amasu looked at Braiba, she looked innocent and pure heart with a face that looked like she could do no harm.
Amasu could not help but trust and feel safe upon looking at Braiba's face.
Amasu took a deep breath before allowing her to touch his wound.
Braiba then used her magic to heal his wound.
"Thank you" said Amasu to Braiba.
"You are welcome, now leave this forest and go back to your home" said Anja bitterly.
"Anja is right, this forest is no place for your kind" said Braiba.
Amasu sighed before he put away his sword and turns away from them. Amasu then turned his back to them and then took in a breath before saying, "Amasu, that's my name".
Braiba's eyes widened upon hearing Amasu's words before a warm smile formed on her face.
Amasu then took his leave, venture in the deep leafy foliage until he completely vanished in to the green.
"Good riddance foolish Buganbalian", Anja spoke, his tone filled disgust and annoyance while Braiba just stared blankly at the spot Amasu left from, wondering if she would ever see him again.
"Come on Braiba let's head home. Between dealing with that Buganbalian and having to fight that strange beast, I'm completely drained. I wonder if lunch is ready yet", said Anja.
Braiba upon hearing Anja's words giggled at him before saying, "Do you ever think of anything that isn't food".
Anja and Braiba then made their way back in to the forest to their home.
"Hey, think we'll find some more belic berries", Anja playfully asked.
"Anja", Braiba spoke with warm smile on her face while nodding her head at her brother as she couldn't help but the fact that his mind seemed to always be preoccupied by food.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to both Anja and Braiba, the very creature that attacked them laid hidden within the thick green on the forest, its crimson eyes serving as a window from which its master, a pale faced figure with glowing red scarlet eyes watched from a realm of darkness and shadow, there is no sun and day, only massive blood ready moon. The figure having watched everything unfold through the beast's eyes just flashed a wicked grin as legions upon legions of beasts, each of them with blood red crimson eyes emerged from the shadows with one of them, a massive wing creature descending from the pitch black sky and landing by his side with a puff of black mist leaving its mouth as it did.
The figure then raised a hand, which was just as pale as his face and as cold as ice, to the beast and petted it.
"Soon Torini, soon. I shall return and reclaim was denied me and have my vengeance on them all", the figure spoke, his tone soft but heavy and cold, filled with nothing but vile, pain, rage, and an unquenchable thirst for vengeance.
