The image became clear in Seung's eyes as he recognized the dark-cloaked wraith gliding toward him. Was it attempting to possess him as well? That wasn't going to work.
Rolling across the ground, he retrieved his dagger. The wraith, now about a meter above him, let out a shrill scream—its voice both tiny and piercing.
"I can at least hurt you," Seung muttered, leaping into the air, ready to strike.
But something in his peripheral vision caught his attention.
'Is he helping the wraith?' Seung's mind raced, his eyes wide. Instinctively, he let the wraith draw close before vaulting over it. In that split second, the braided man's sword struck the wraith instead of Seung.
The sinister entity crashed to the ground, dissipating into a dark smoke that quickly vanished. Simultaneously, both Seung and the man rose to their feet. That single action sparked something in Seung's mind—a strange feeling that perhaps, just maybe, these possessed individuals could be brought back.
