Chapter 1191 - Chapter 1080: What is the dog barking? A Third-Rank Expert, that's it? That's all?!!!"_1

Xue Can's arrival had immediately silenced all the new students in the vicinity.

They were as silent as cicadas in winter.

After all, Xue Can's presence alone was sufficiently intimidating, let alone the appearance of two rows of students from the student council, dressed in black, each with a cultivation level above Sixth Grade. Even a random member from their ranks was stronger than the average new student, naturally exuding immense authority.

Seeing the unexpected arrival of Xue Can, instructors like Yang Cang knitted their brows, displaying a hint of displeasure.

However, the less powerful instructors, though unhappy, said nothing. Yang Cang voiced his displeasure, "Little Xue, today is the day for new students to choose their instructors. What's the meaning of the student council's intrusion?"

Despite his arrogant nature, Xue Can still bowed respectfully when facing this esteemed and respected elder of the school.

"Excuse the disturbance, Elder Yang. I did not wish to come today. However, there has been a small misunderstanding with some new students and, though the chairman could not return, he instructed me to resolve this matter as soon as possible; thus, I dared not delay."

"Do you think mentioning Qin Qi, that degenerate, gives you the right to disrespect Elder Yang?" with an assertive shake of her Pu Dao, the short-haired female martial artist Hua Yourong let her fierce eyes shine through her beautiful gaze.

"Please, Instructor Hua, do not be angry. Xue Can and the student council have always held Elder Yang in high regard. How could we be disrespectful?" said Xue Can with a smile, pointing towards Luo Yu in the crowd, "It's just that there's been a slight misunderstanding with this new student today that we need to resolve, hence the intrusion."

"Hmph! The student council seems to be increasingly lacking in manners," Hua Yourong snorted coldly. However, since Xue Can had not truly acted inappropriately, she, though discontented, had no reason to step down.

Yang Cang glanced at Luo Yu, who appeared calm within the crowd, and then spoke to Xue Can:

"If there is a misunderstanding, resolve it properly. But remember, this is Chuan Province Martial University, not a place where the student council can dictate everything. Do not do anything out of line."

Xue Can nodded, "Rest assured, Elder Yang, I will handle this matter according to the rules."

Having said that, he stepped towards Luo Yu, exuding a dangerous aura. The new students around Luo Yu felt a chill at heart and instinctively stepped back, creating a distance from him. Only Little Fatty and Li Zhenyue remained close by his side, unmoved.

All eyes, both from the students and instructors, converged on the scene, attentive to the unfolding situation. Some who knew the context feared for Luo Yu's side, thinking that Xue Can's arrival, so brazen even in the presence of instructors, signaled ill intentions.

"Student Xia, how have you considered my earlier proposal?" Xue Can asked with a smile that seemed kindly, yet within it hid a blade that could kill without spilling blood.

"Vice Chairman Xue, didn't you say that my boss had three days to consider? It's only been one day," Little Fatty said, somewhat fearful. Facing Xue Can, a Third-Rank Expert with significant authority, he was scared but did not step back.

Xue Can ignored him, as if he heard nothing, and casually cleaned his ear.

"Is someone speaking? Where is that barking coming from?"

Little Fatty's face changed, a sense of humiliation overwhelming him as he clenched his fists tightly. Yet seeing the unabashed cold sneer on the other's face, he bit his lip, forcibly suppressing the fury in his heart, aware that he couldn't provoke such a top dog.

"Heh."

Disdaining Little Fatty's timidity, Xue Can turned towards Luo Yu and spoke imposingly:

"Student Xia, my patience is exhausted. You must give me an answer now. Do you choose to join the student council and accept some points as compensation, or will you continue to oppose us out of your greed?"

It seemed as though everyone could see Luo Yu's decision.

After all, the student council was just too powerful. The Third-Grade Vice Chairman, Chairman Qin, inscrutable and likely First Grade, a peerless genius capable of defeating those higher ranked than himself, among other formidable characters. How could a new student like Luo Yu hope to struggle against them?

Cheng Jinjin gritted his teeth; he was perceptive and could understand some of the hidden proceedings.

Xue Can's confidence seemed greater than before, indicating a sure reliance. Otherwise, he would not be so domineering.

Luo Yu slowly parted his lips. All the new students felt that power would ultimately triumph over the passion of youth, preparing to bow to reality. After all, joining the student council and receiving points as compensation didn't seem to be such a bad deal. Xue Can and the other student council members' mouths curled with condescending smiles.

"Cheng Jinjin, translate for me. What is that person on the other side barking? I can't seem to understand," Luo Yu casually spoke while cleaning his ear, leaving the audience dumbfounded. Wasn't this a barefaced provocation? A blatant face slap without any regard for consequences.

Cheng Jinjin was stunned. The other side had clearly come prepared, and his boss was still this bold?

But then he felt a warmth inside.

This was his boss standing up for him, taking revenge on his behalf, as Xue Can had just called him a dog.

Xue Can's smile of self-satisfaction froze momentarily, then turned into an icy chill, as cold as millennia-old ice.

He gritted his teeth and asked:

"Xia! Luo!.."

"What did you say?"

Facing Xue Can's fury, Luo Yu was as if facing thin air, patting Little Fatty's shoulder.

"Forget it, dog speech isn't meant for humans to understand. I don't understand it, and you definitely don't either, so no need for a translation."

"If a dog barks too much, just kick it a couple of times."

"If it still barks after a couple of kicks, it means the dog's owner hasn't tied it up properly and has let it run wild. The dog's owner should be dragged out for a lesson as well."

Little Fatty's eyes widened in astonishment, and the surrounding students were struck as if by lightning, their mouths agape, as exclamations of awe resounded within their hearts.
