Manman and the others had finished their check-in procedures at the hotel and were taking their luggage upstairs. Halfway, Jiang Yan's phone buzzed; it was a call from his father.
"I and your mother arrived this morning. Later, hearing from your uncle that there was a traffic jam on the highway from Beijing to Tianjin, we didn't rush to contact you. Have you and Manman arrived in Tianjin?" asked Jiang's father.
"We have," reported Jiang Yan to his father, "We are staying in a hotel now. Are you staying at Uncle's place?"
"Your uncle has bought a new house, and your mother and I are staying there," Jiang's father said with a long sigh, thinking that although the new house was meant to be sold, his wife had readily agreed to stay, and even if Jiang Yongzheng didn't mind, he did.
Jiang Yan could tell exactly what his father was sighing about and furrowed his brows.
