Even if someone managed to gather all six colors of materials, it's not guaranteed they would be willing to use these jadeite pieces to carve hollowed-out Jade Hairpins, as it would be extravagantly wasteful and profligate.
In the jadeite industry, most of the jewelry produced is extremely simple, with the intention of conserving raw materials.
Who would be willing to slice open five or six pieces of High Icy Jadeite just to make a tiny set of hairpins? That would simply be an extravagant waste!
However, looking at the complete set of Jade Hairpins before them, everyone revealed a look of amazement.
