Xingxing's cooking skills were undeniably good. Though different from the taste of restaurant food and not on par with the culinary god Taiyi, the homemade sweet soup and the stir-fried beef she made had a comforting homeliness that, with just a bowl of rice, could satisfy the cravings of most people.

While eating, Gu Tao recounted the entire sequence of events to Xingxing, who just propped up her cheeks and listened, interjecting only briefly to ask what would happen if he intervened and what the outcomes would be if he did not intervene.
"Being an adult is so tough." Gu Tao finished a big bowl of sweet potato soup. "Every choice has its positives and negatives."
