Night had draped its dark cloth over the dunes and cast its magical silence on the deserts.
The atmosphere was utterly still and quiet one could have heard a lizard scurrying along the sand.
The only light that could be seen so far was the campfire at the center of the camp of Khalid's caravan. Above it sat a large pot with a delicious-smelling soup brewing. Everyone's mouth watered at the smell and they all but lined up to be served their dinner as soon as possible.
" Who would have thought that Jaber is capable of cooking something so delicious." Nazem appeared behind the boy who was working on a separate smaller pot.
" Man, taking you in was never a mistake seeing how we get to eat your delicious food." Nizam popped around the other side.
Jaber gave each a pointed look, noting their bowls held in hand. " Don't ever try it. You're not getting any seconds unless everyone has their share." His tone was final and the two men wore crestfallen expressions.
