Chapter 656 - Press Conferences from All Sides

Mechas.

This is exactly what most of the audience and players are eager to see now.

The wall sliding, double jumps, and other features make the game feel much cooler overall.

However, none of these compare to the real mechas!

When they saw the mecha on the game's cover, the name Titanfall seemed to carry even more meaning.

Titan originally referred to a giant race, and mechas just happen to resemble the form of giants.

Does this mean that mechas are the Titans themselves, and that they might be controllable?

Their guess was correct, and at this point, Takayuki gave them the answer.

...

...

After Takayuki completed the training field task with a series of fluid movements, the scene transitioned to a vast open grassland environment.

At this moment, in the distance, people could faintly see a mecha half-kneeling on the ground.

The appearance of the mecha looked rough and wild.

The audience couldn't help but whistle at this point.

They all had a sense of what might happen next.

Takayuki smiled and said, "I think you've all guessed it, yes, this time our game will allow players to control mechas in battle. But please allow me to tease you a bit; there won't be a mecha demonstration today because it's not yet finished. But in the near future, we'll definitely present the true Titan form to all players."

In the video, the character followed the instructions to summon the Titan.

Then the view shifted to the sky, and people could vaguely see the sight of a sonic boom, as if something was falling from the sky. The players and audience held their breath.

But just then, the screen abruptly cut off.

The Titan mecha they had imagined didn't land. Takayuki had intentionally left them hanging.

"No!"

"Don't! We want to see the Titan fall!"

"Titanfall!"

"Titan...fall!"

"Titan...fall!"

The audience, many of whom were game developers themselves, started chanting in unison.

They were all eagerly awaiting the moment the Titan mecha would land.

But the screen faded to black.

Only one line of text appeared: coming soon!

The press conference officially ended at that moment.

In the hall and online, the audience and players were still in a daze.

"I'm willing to sacrifice fifty pounds of fat to see more Titanfall content!"

"I'll sacrifice my hair!"

"I'll sacrifice my entire life without a girlfriend!"

No matter what the players and audience were willing to sacrifice, the press conference would not continue.

This press conference had built a lot of anticipation, and this new shooting game had already conquered many players just through its trailer.

Aiko, sitting in the audience, looked at everything with a complex expression, a little envious.

She didn't know when the game they created would also have so many people expressing excitement.

She really hoped that day would come soon.

In the original plan, there was supposed to be a mecha demonstration as well.

However, until now, the true form of the Titan mecha hadn't been fully established, and if they demonstrated it directly, it wouldn't give the best experience to the players.

So, Takayuki inevitably teased them and didn't reveal everything.

However, the content revealed so far was enough to excite the players for quite a while.

Just looking at the scenes they were discussing online shows how much they were looking forward to the many games that Gamestar would release next.

Following Gamestar's press conference was the launch event for the new company founded by the former CEO of Lilda, Hack Brown: Brown Entertainment.

Their flagship product was, of course, a first-person shooter game set during World War II.

The backdrop of World War II naturally has an immersive quality, and the first-person perspective enhances the immersion even further.

So, in recent years, Brown Entertainment's shooting games have sold decently well.

Hack Brown had originally thought he could continue developing sequels with little innovation, just steadily creating games in a routine manner.

However, he didn't expect Gamestar to suddenly drop a bombshell.

In recent years, Brown Entertainment's shooting games had started to feel repetitive.

After all, there are only so many famous battles from World War II, and one game could cover most of the major events.

The sequels mainly focused on improving graphics, but the storytelling ability had barely improved.

It was indeed time to update the historical setting.

Hack Brown shifted his focus to the Cold War period, which seemed to be a unique historical story, and he thought the players would be quite interested.

But with Gamestar's futuristic story as the backdrop, its overall art style and gameplay quality had made a massive leap forward. Hack Brown was suddenly feeling quite uncomfortable.

Their press conferences were only separated by a small time gap.

Players had already raised their expectations after seeing Gamestar's new game trailers, and when Hack Brown's first-person shooter game was announced, not many players had much of a reaction.

Some of them even looked down on Brown Entertainment's new game.

However, Brown Entertainment still had its supporters, those who were eager to watch the press conference as soon as possible. But these people's reactions were relatively calm, clearly not as excited as the wild cheers at Gamestar's press conference.

Fortunately, in addition to their flagship first-person shooter game, Brown Entertainment also had a role-playing game aimed at online players: Mystic Dragon Treasure.

With this game, Brown Entertainment was able to maintain a foothold in the industry, preventing a complete flop.

Hack Brown was deeply troubled.

Gamestar was truly like a nightmare.

At least among their peers, only Gamestar could accomplish such feats.

Even Hack Brown was struggling, and other companies had it even worse. At any exhibition where Gamestar was present, the other companies couldn't do well.

Meanwhile, Surrey Electronics, which had been in competition with Gamestar for a long time, wasn't very active this time.

Their press conference only revealed some handheld games that had already been heavily promoted, and then it was over.

It wasn't that Surrey Electronics had given up competing, but recently, something else had distracted their CEO, Hayakawa Uetomo, who was temporarily preoccupied and had no energy to focus on company affairs. Everything had been proceeding as usual.

The matter that was affecting Hayakawa Uetomo was related to his father.

His father, now in his nineties, was in declining health, and the doctors had already determined that the once highly respected former CEO of Surrey Electronics, Hayakawa Kentaro, didn't have much time left.
