Upon hearing about traditional wedding attire, Lu Qingqing involuntarily thought of the Dragon and Phoenix Robes.
The upper garment is called a robe, the lower a skirt, which is also referred to as robe and skirt.
The Dragon and Phoenix Robes are currently the most popular traditional wedding dress, widely spread from southern Guangdong to all over the world. Another one is the bridal attire, but this was evolved from TV dramas and is not a traditional wedding dress at all. Like the Phoenix Fairy Dress, they are actually concubine attire, and even have a shorter history than the Phoenix Fairy Dress, only about a decade or so.
Straight collars are for the formal wife's attire; bridal attire and Phoenix Fairy Dress are slanted collars, with the latter being the outfit worn by the famed courtesan Xiao Fengxian when she entered a household.
However, the bridal attire nowadays is mostly made with a straight collar.
