The ceremony finally ended after another hour of playing.
As expected by most—except perhaps the bride herself—she emerged victorious.
Though tensions between the families had briefly flared, they were quickly suppressed.
At the grand hall of the Davana palace, Yennefer glanced down at the little girl in her arms.
"Do you like it, Iffa?" she asked softly.
Iffa's emerald eyes sparkled as she savored the ice cream in her hands. "It's sweet!"
Yennefer chuckled, using her sleeve to gently wipe a smudge from the child's face.
"I'm glad you like it." Yennefer said, as she looked beside her.
Her gaze shifted to the side, where Hannah, Aimar, and Zenith stood together.
For a while now, Zenith had been subtly working to keep Hannah and Aimar close—despite Aimar's repeated attempts to slip away.
She never let him.
'Did Himmel ask her to do it?'
Yennefer mused, her lips curled into a gentle smile.
Hannah had endured a hellish life.
