Kushina chuckled, placing a hand on Naruto's shoulder. "Naruto, Mikoto here is one of my best friends. You'd do well to get along with her son, y'know?"
Naruto nodded, then looked up at Mikoto with a mischievous glint. "You're really strong and cool, Mikoto-san. And beautiful, too!"
Mikoto's eyes twinkled with amusement as she watched Naruto with interest. "Kushina, I see what you mean. Your son is… quite persuasive."
Naruto turned to Mikoto, bowing slightly with exaggerated politeness. "Mikoto-san, you're too kind. My mom always told me to respect beauty and wisdom when I see it."
Mikoto's cheeks flushed faintly, her hand rising to cover a soft laugh. "Oh, Kushina, he's dangerous. I can see the Uchiha charm having a competition soon."
Sasuke, standing beside his mother, frowned, his dark eyes narrowing as he crossed his arms. "Talk is cheap, Naruto. Let's see if you can back it up."
Naruto met Sasuke's gaze, his grin turning sharper. "Oh, don't worry, Sasuke. When the time comes, I'll show you exactly what I'm made of. Just don't blink—you might miss it."
The tension between the two boys was electric, though it didn't escalate beyond a silent challenge. Instead, Naruto turned his attention back to the growing group of friends. Choji was happily munching on his chips, while Shikamaru leaned lazily against a post, watching the scene with mild disinterest.
"This is gonna be such a drag," Shikamaru muttered, earning a nudge from his father, Shikaku.
"Cheer up, Shikamaru," Shikaku said, his smirk mirroring his son's. "You're surrounded by friends. It doesn't get much better than this."
Shino Aburame remained quiet but observant, his father, Shibi, nodding in approval at the camaraderie. Meanwhile, Tsume Inuzuka barked a laugh as she clapped Kushina on the back. "Your boy's got fire. I like that."
Kushina grinned proudly. "He's gonna set this village on fire—in all the best ways."
As the parents exchanged words, the children laughed and mingled, their excitement filling the air. Naruto, standing tall among them, exuded a quiet dominance that set him apart. His charm, boldness, and undeniable presence were like a spark in the air.
Just then, a loud voice announced, "All parents and children, please make your way to the registration desk for photos. This is part of the official admission process."
Kushina beamed. "Alright, Naruto! Let's go get our picture taken!"
As they joined the line, Naruto noticed other families in front of them, each posing for a formal portrait. Some parents were stoic, others emotional, holding their children close. When it was Naruto's turn, he and Kushina stepped forward, the photographer adjusting the camera to get the right angle.
Kushina smiled brightly, wrapping an arm around Naruto's shoulder. But before the photographer could take the shot, Naruto looked up at his mother with a grin. "Hey, Mom, make sure to look as cool as I do, okay?"
Kushina chuckled, nodding. "Alright, Naruto! Let's give them our best!"
The flash went off, capturing the moment, and the photo would later reveal a young boy brimming with confidence beside a mother who couldn't be prouder.
As they walked back to rejoin the crowd, Kushina placed a hand on Naruto's shoulder. "Naruto, promise me something, okay?"
Naruto looked up, a little surprised by her sudden seriousness. "What is it, Mom?"
She smiled, her gaze softening. "No matter what happens, always remember who you are. And... Mom will be your favorite."
Naruto's face lit up, and he licked his lips. "I promise, Mom. No one can match you... at least not yet."
His last words were very soft like a whisper and before Kushina could question, a booming voice interrupted them. "Alright, everyone! Please gather around! We're about to begin the official entrance ceremony for all new academy students!"
The crowd moved closer, parents and children finding their places as the Hokage himself, Hiruzen Sarutobi, stepped forward to address them. The elderly Hokage's face was warm and welcoming, a twinkle of pride in his eyes as he looked over the next generation of Konoha's protectors.
"Today marks a new chapter," He began, his voice strong despite his age. "You, the children of Konoha, will take your first steps in a journey to become great shinobi. It will not be an easy path. You will face challenges, both in the academy and beyond. But know this—you are not alone. Your families, your friends, and your village stand behind you."
Naruto felt a surge of conflicting emotions as he stood among the crowd of children and their families. The energy in the air was infectious—this was the start of his journey.
But as Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, began his ceremonial speech, Naruto's excitement soured into something darker.
He clenched his fists, but not in anticipation this time. His sharp, blue eyes narrowed slightly as he listened to the old man's words, every phrase dripping with polished wisdom and hollow promises.
"Protecting the will of fire," Hiruzen said, his voice carrying over the crowd, but to Naruto, it felt like little more than the façade of a hypocrite.
Naruto was already aware of the secrets buried deep within the shadow of the Hokage's office. The lies, the manipulations, the way the Third had let the village's prejudice fester around him like rot. To most, Hiruzen was a pillar of honor and guidance, but Naruto saw through the cracks in his mask.
As the Hokage continued, Naruto smirked faintly, his expression unreadable to those around him.
"Strong words from someone who hides behind a desk while others clean up his messes," He thought bitterly. He wouldn't say it aloud—not yet—but the knowledge simmered beneath his skin, fueling his resolve.
Hiruzen continued, "Each of you has the potential to become something great. Some of you may even one day become Hokage." His gaze lingered on Naruto for a moment, a subtle nod to the legacy he carried.
Naruto hid his real emotion as he faked an excited and determined expression. He glanced at Kushina, who gave him a reassuring smile. He could feel her pride and support radiating, and it made him more determined to deal with the hypocrite as soon as possible.
As the speech concluded, the parents began saying their farewells, many offering last-minute words of encouragement and affection. Kushina knelt down, pulling Naruto into a tight embrace, her voice warm and gentle.
"Remember, Naruto," She murmured, holding him close, "No matter what happens here, I'll always be proud of you. Don't let anything hold you back. Be strong, be brave, and most importantly… be yourself."
Naruto hugged her back, a fierce look of determination on his face. "Don't worry, Mom! I'll be the best student, just like how I am the best son at home! And someday, I'll be Hokage!"
Kushina blushed, her smile hiding a secret she shared with her son, brushing a strand of hair from his forehead. "I know you will. But don't rush—enjoy every step of the journey, okay?"
Naruto nodded, releasing her and giving her a quick grin. "Alright, Mom, I've got it! Don't wait up—I'm gonna make history here!"
She laughed, a sparkle of pride in her eyes. "That's my boy."
