Chapter 51 - Jubilife TV Interview

The next day at the kindergarten.

Proteam Omega is a giant robot that defends the world. When a crisis occurs, Commander Venusaur calls his team:

Pikachu controls the Tauri-Plane, a biplane.

Poliwrath controls the Tauri-Liner, a train.

Gyarados controls the Tauri-Ship, a boat.

Aerodactyl controls the Tauri-Balloon, a hot air balloon.

Snorlax controls the Tauri-Rescue, a fire truck.

When all five unite their vehicles, Proteam Omega is formed. Its antagonist is Demon Brioche, known as Devilish Dennis.

At this moment, just like every day before nap time.

Reenacting their epic battle, one chubby boy dramatically shouted, "Sir Pikachu, attack!" Then, in a burst of excitement, he launched himself forward like a cannonball, arms outstretched, crashing straight into another child like a rolling Emboar.

"Take this! Thunderbolt!"

The other kid, barely recovering from the impact, quickly jumped to his feet. "No way! My Poliwrath blocks it with Water Gun!"

However, the chubby boy suddenly realized that his friend had attacked him instead of the villain, Demon Brioche. Furious, he yelled, "You brat! Why did you attack your own teammate?!"

"You're calling me immature? Look who's talking, fat boy!"

"Dare you call me fat?! I'll make sure you can't walk straight!"

"Ah, ah, ah! Don't pin me down! I was wrong, I was wrong! I won't do it again! Spare me, Sir Brioche! Please accept my allegiance!"

Chaos.

"Ah, yes, this is what life is supposed to be," Allen muttered to himself in satisfaction, before suddenly becoming alarmed.

Thankfully, Peony, the current teacher, managed to arrive early and start the first lesson of the day, helping the kids settle down.

However...

"Cynthia, sit properly!"

"Cynthia, stop being mischievous!"

"Cynthia, behave!"

Such scolding had suddenly become a regular occurrence in class, and the reason was...

"Gible, what are you doing?!" Cynthia's hushed voice echoed as Gible was already scampering away, its tiny feet pattering on the floor as it made a quick getaway, clearly proud of itself for causing chaos.

Allen sighed, watching the little Pokémon dash around the room with a playful grin, but it was hard to stay mad when the baby shark looked so adorably mischievous.

Gible turned around and, with lightning speed, bit Peony on the ankle!

"Ow! Hey! What are you—" Peony yelped, hopping around on one foot, trying to shake off the cheeky little Pokémon.

"Teacher! Teacher!" a kid screamed, running into the room with wide, panicked eyes. "The teacher's been attacked by a monster!"

The class froze, all eyes glued to the frantic child. "A monster?"

"That's it! The monster, Sir Pikachu!" the kid yelled, pointing toward Peony and Gible.

The kids exchanged knowing glances, then looked at each other with admiration. 'How dare he come up with such a shady scheme just to avoid the class?'

But honestly, who would want to sit through four hours of mind-numbing adult lectures?

Not them!

They had much better plans. Everyone knew the drill. The scheme was already in motion, and the plot was thickening. With a collective nod, they joined forces, united in their mission to escape the torture of education.

"Sir Pikachu!" they all cried out in unison.

Meanwhile, Gible, clearly proud of its earlier antics, wobbled back and forth with a toothy grin was caught off guard as the kids began chasing after it.

Sensing the growing chaos around it, the little Pokémon dove into the madness, gave a quick "Gib!" and made a swift escape.

"Gib!" The baby shark dashed away even faster, its little fins flapping as it zoomed through the room.

"No, Gible, come here!" Cynthia called out, chasing after it.

"Attack! That's a Demon Brioche soldier! Attack!"

And just like that, Proteam Omega was unleashed, once again shattering the peace in the kindergarten like a rockstar storming the stage.

Allen sighed before feeling something brush against his leg. Looking down, he saw the baby Gothita staring up at him with wide eyes.

"Thita~!" it chirped.

"What is it?" Allen asked, following Gothita's tiny hand as it pointed toward Caitlin.

She was busily scribbling something and he let out another sigh.

Ever since the previous incident, things had started to change with Caitlin. Especially now that Cynthia was busy with her new Gible, she had begun approaching him more and more.

As a result, he gradually became the one responsible for wiping her runny nose.

"Come and wipe it… Aren't you afraid of getting dirty? You're a girl, you know?"

"Mm."

Caitlin nodded as if she understood but didn't really get it, then simply waited for Allen to help her wipe her nose.

"Don't sniff it up—it's gross!"

But, resigned to his fate, he sighed, pulled out a handkerchief, and started wiping her nose anyway.

"The relationship between you two has gotten so good now…"

Cynthia's voice came from behind Allen just as he finished helping Caitlin clean up. She wasn't jealous—in fact, she was happy to see them getting along.

Allen's eyes lit up. "Great! You take care of her, I'm going to sleep."

"Why do you love sleeping so much? Don't sleep, lazy bug!" Cynthia grabbed his arm and pouted. "We haven't played house yet today!"

Allen's mouth twitched.

"Why do you always want to play with me? You have so many other friends…"

"Because only you are willing to play with Caitlin!" she declared confidently.

"…"

Was it really okay to say that right in front of her?

Allen glanced at Caitlin, who simply stared blankly, as if she didn't even know why she was there in the first place, and sighed.

"Fine… anyway, we're graduating in a few days."

'Cynthia… how should he put it?'

When they first met, she was a bit of a tomboy, always running around, shouting while playing the "I wanna be the very best" game. But lately, she'd become more girly, enjoying games like playing house—especially with Gible around.

The baby shark Pokémon, completely clueless about what was happening, had somehow already taken on the role of 'baby' alongside Gothita.

A few boys strutted by, proudly displaying their Charizard Transformer and a Blastoise train truck. Leading the pack was Wake, a boy so massively built that he looked less like a trainer and more like a wrestler. He was notorious for stirring up trouble in class.

With a swagger that could only be matched by a toddler with a sugar rush, he stomped over to Allen and the others.

"Hey, Allen, why are you always playing with girls now? You're so girly! No wonder you wet the bed all the time! Hahaha!"

"…"

"Wake, that's not nice!" Cynthia said, hands on her hips, glaring at him. "Children should be kind to each other, not say mean things!"

Allen casually shrugged. "Let them laugh if they want. They'll be the ones crying when they grow up."

"Grrr… I'm so mad!"

Wake swung his toy Charizard around like it was a sword. "It's time for you to feel my power! I am the captain of the Charizard Divine Poke Transformers, capable of super transformations! Take this—Divine Beast Flying Kick! Biu—Chi—Pa—!"

He lunged forward, ready to strike with his toy, but before he could even finish his dramatic action, Allen snatched it right out of his hands.

"Hey! Give that back!" Wake screeched, flailing and trying to grab it back, but Allen stopped him with a question.

"What's 5 plus 5? A Captain Charizard shouldn't embarrass himself by not knowing the answer, right?"

"Damn, here we go again!"

"Why does the captain always fall for his tricks?"

"Shh, it's because the captain is the captain! He accepts every challenge… very fairly!"

Wake's eyes sparkled at the mention of Captain Charizard, but then his face twisted into a full-on frown.

"5 plus 5? Damn it...It's a double digit addition and subtraction..."

One of the kids whispered, "Should've taken math class with the Blastoise Transformer... it probably knows more!"

"Stop talking! You've confused me! Shut up!"

While Wake was racking his brains to do the math, Grandma Wilma hurriedly walked in, followed by a group of young men and women holding cameras and microphones.

"Children, settle down, put your toys away, and take your seats. Auntie and uncle from Jubilife TV Station has come all the way to see you! She heard you'll be graduating soon and wanted to interview you. This will be on TV, so pay close attention!"

At that moment, Wake was still struggling with a math problem, while Cynthia kept tugging on Allen's clothes, trying to get him and Caitlin to sit down.

"Wake, Allen, why aren't you in your seats yet?" Grandma Wilma asked.

"Grandma, Allen bullied me!" Wake complained, looking aggrieved as he turned to Grandma Wilma.

Grandma Wilma frowned and looked at Allen sternly. "Allen, why did you bully Wake? And how exactly did you do it?"

One of Wake's little followers quickly chimed in, "Allen is so mean! He made the captain do two-digit addition!"

"Yeah, so mean!" another child echoed.

The elegant reporter holding a microphone chuckled. "These kids are really something... But did they just say Allen? Isn't that the same Allen who caught the criminal?" She gestured for the cameraman to follow her.

"Hello, everyone! We're reporters from Jubilife TV Station, and we'd love to ask you some questions. If you're interested, feel free to participate! This will be aired on Jubilife TV this Wednesday!"

Truthfully, their main goal was to interview Allen, but since kids tend to get jealous, they masked it by involving everyone.

"But before we begin, we have some gifts for you! Come on, line up!" the reporter announced, instructing the staff to start distributing them.

Allen and Caitlin were yanked down by Cynthia, while a chubby little Gible squirmed around, clearly itching to play. However, Cynthia had it locked in a death hug of pure determination. "No nonsense!" she declared as Gible wiggled like a fish out of water, its tiny arms flailing in protest.

The reporter and the cameraman looked toward Gible in Cynthia's arms, their eyes wide with shock.

A pseudo-legendary Pokémon?!

Whether it was a pseudo-legendary or a regional starter, these Pokémon were meticulously bred with great care to ensure exceptionally strong offspring from the very beginning.

They were meant for future trainers—those the Association believed would become the next generation of elites.

And yet, here was this little girl from an unknown Celestic Town... holding one in her arms. How on earth did she manage to get her hands on one?!

Each region had its own pseudo-legendary Pokémon, which were strictly preserved and protected by law. These Pokémon were considered rare and powerful, requiring special care and protection wherever they were found.

1. Kanto Association preserves Dratini

2. Johto Association preserves Larvitar

3. Hoenn Association preserves Bagon and Beldum

4. Sinnoh Association preserves Gible

5. Unova Association preserves Deino

6. Kalos Association preserves Goomy

7. Alola Associationpreserves Jangmo-o

8. Galar Association preserves Dreepy

9. And finally, the recent independent region, Paldea, preserves Frigibax

As everyone knows, regional starter Pokémon cannot be caught through normal means, and the same goes—if not more so—for pseudo-legendary Pokémon.

For regional starters, trainers need a recommendation. But for pseudo-legendaries, they must convince the Pokémon itself.

This means venturing into their lairs personally, entering their territory, and earning their trust firsthand.

These powerful Pokémon often reside in extreme environments—deep underwater caves, towering cliffs, dense, uncharted forests, or even active volcanic regions. But finding one is only half the challenge.

Even after locating a pseudo-legendary, a trainer must gain its approval—often from the parents or elders of the group. It's a grueling, expensive, and incredibly demanding process, making the capture of a pseudo-legendary Pokémon an uncertain and exhausting endeavor.

It can only mean one thing: this little girl either has an extraordinary connection, or her family is incredibly powerful. Either her family has deep ties within the Pokémon Association, or a member of her family owns a Garchomp, making the whole process much easier.

Because if you're on the streets every day, the rarest Pokémon you'll see is a regional starter, and even then, it's only one in ten. As for a pseudo-legendary, it's probably one in a hundred.

Their purpose for interviewing Allen changed instantly as their eyes gleamed, now focused on Cynthia and Gible.
