As the world vanished into a white light, I once again found myself in that strange, senseless void. But this time, it didn't last long.
When I opened my eyes, I found myself lying in what looked like a dirty, rundown room.
The place was in shambles—cracked walls, tattered furniture, and an overall musty smell. But that wasn't the worst part.
My body… It felt weak. My arms were thin—almost skeletal, as if I hadn't eaten in days.
"What… state is this?" I muttered, sitting up slowly.
And then—like a hammer striking my skull—an overwhelming surge of memories flooded my mind.
Pain. Suffering. Desperation.
The memories didn't belong to me—they belonged to the original owner of this body.
Through his eyes, I saw his past: a boy born into wealth, once living a privileged life. But tragedy struck when his entire family was slaughtered—killed by those who wanted to seize their assets.
Stripped of everything, he was forced to survive as a mere parasite, barely scraping by in the slums. He tried to fight back, to reclaim what was his. But each attempt ended in failure.
And then, the cruelest twist of fate—those same people who killed his family also took the little money he had left.
After his tenth attempt at revenge… he lost all hope.
And so, he chose death.
That was his end.
And my beginning.
"What a troublesome new identity," I couldn't help but mumble.

Seeing this, I quickly checked each of them.
First was the Blessing—it was granted to me by Lumia, and everything else, from Power to Authority, fell under it.
Then came the System itself. Unlike some overpowered game-like systems, this one only had three main functions:
Status – A simple character sheet.
Inventory – Self-explanatory.
Random Perk – This was interesting. Each time I traveled to a new world, I would receive a perk related to that world.
I had yet to claim my perk for this world, so I decided to do that later after reviewing everything else.
Next was my Power—the Martial Saint title. It meant that in this world, I was a god-tier fighter among mortals. My body could endure immense strain, and I could reinforce it using my internal energy. However, if I used 100% of its full potential right now with my skinny body, my bones would snap under the force.
Lastly, my Authority—the Authority of Fear. It granted me the ability to induce such overwhelming terror in someone that they could quite literally die from it. I could also sense fear and use it to track or manipulate others, making it an extremely powerful ability in psychological warfare.
"So, that's it. Now, let's see what perk I get," I muttered with excitement.
I accessed the Random Perk Gacha. A slot machine-like animation appeared, spinning rapidly before stopping with a click. A glowing sphere floated in front of me, revealing the words:
[ Random Perk: Class - Thanatos Descendant (From Sleeping Ranker World) ]
"Huh… interesting," I mused.
Sleeping Ranker was another VRMMO world, not as famous as Overgeared, but still quite popular. Its protagonist wielded the powerful Thanatos Descendant class, making him a near-unstoppable force in that world.
If I just got my hands on that class… this adventure was about to get way more fun.
{So, how is it?}
Suddenly, once again, I heard the goddess's voice.
"It's great! Thank you for giving me this choice," I said, feeling a mix of excitement and gratitude.
She chuckled in amusement.
{Okay then, go and live as you wish. I'll be watching. Happy vlogging!}
"I will " I said slamming a fist on my chest.
"Now, according to my memory, the game has just launched, and I also need to activate the perk" I muttered as I checked the perk details.
[ Thanatos Descendant: To activate, the host must spend six years in-game time in the game 'Satisfy' sleeping ]
Since time in Satisfy runs three times faster than in the real world, that meant I would need to spend about two years in real-world time doing nothing but just sleeping in game.
"And since the game has just launched, that means it will activate at the time when the book starts. Exactly at the same time as the protagonist will obtain the legendary Pagma's Descendant class…"
"This is the best!" I murmured excitedly. That blacksmith's book was ridiculously powerful—it turned an ordinary player into a legendary figure. If I could somehow interfere with the story and claim it for myself…
{No, you can't.}
Lumia's voice echoed in my mind, cutting through my thoughts.
{How lame would it be if you just stole the protagonist's main class and the entire journey ended before it even began?}
I sighed. She had a point. If I took the Pagma's Descendant class, it would completely derail the storyline, making things way too easy.
"Alright, fine. Thanatos Descendant is more than enough for me anyway," I said, shaking my head.
Lumia chuckled in amusement. {Good. Now go have fun.}
"Though, I need money now," I mumbled, sitting on the edge of my dirty bed.
SLAM!
The door burst open violently.
"Brat, where is this month's protection money?" a thug growled as he stepped inside.
I chuckled, slowly standing up. "Oh? My money?" I said, cracking my knuckles. "Yeah, it's right here."
In one swift motion, I grabbed a nearby pen and threw it straight at him.
Thud!
The pen struck the thug right in the soft spot near his shoulder. It wasn't a lethal hit, but it definitely hurt.
"ARGH! You little—!" he shouted, clutching his shoulder in pain, his face twisted with rage.
"Shut up," I muttered, stepping forward.
