The battle between the Manticore and the allied forces took on a different scale, as the earth trembled, the air burned with white flames, and the very atmosphere thinned, robbed of its oxygen and moisture.
Cliff, Alpha, and Beriel raged against the Manticore in a storm of devastating attacks. Each of them possessed unique abilities, and every strike they delivered was lethal.
But the creature was not to be underestimated. The miasma it exhaled grew denser, thick enough to obstruct their vision and disrupt their senses. Its corrupting effect was not to be ignored.
This miasma resembled that of the rifts—merely approaching it risked turning one into a grotesque abomination. However, it could be resisted through sheer force of will and a sufficiently strong mana barrier to prevent any foreign matter from invading the body.
