Chapter 408 - I will go to him

Dean Bohan clearly remembered Professor Dumbledore's special request: to allow a young man to visit the patients on the fifth floor of the Curse Injury Department undisturbed. No one was to interfere unless he emerged on his own.

At the time, the request had seemed strange to Bohan. A simple visit could be done anytime—why the secrecy? But now, he understood. Dumbledore must have known that the boy intended to treat those patients. To prevent misunderstandings among the St. Mungo's healers, Dumbledore had arranged for him to be left alone.

That meant one thing—finding Dumbledore would lead him straight to that boy. And finding Dumbledore? That was easy.

Determined, Bohan returned to his office, pulled out a piece of parchment, and prepared to write a letter. But after a moment's thought, he tossed the parchment aside. Writing would take too long. He couldn't afford to wait for a reply.

Instead, he grabbed his coat and hat and left. He would go to Hogwarts and speak to Dumbledore directly.

Meanwhile, Blake had no idea that the head of St. Mungo's was searching for him so desperately. After leading everyone out of the hospital, he used the Dimension Gate to leave London. When they reappeared, they stood in a hidden corner of Diagon Alley.

"Those of you with family should go home. If you have nowhere to go, use the money I gave you to find a place to stay," Blake instructed. "This is Diagon Alley—if you need anything, now's the time to buy it."

Old Repp frowned. "And where are you going?"

"Continuing my journey," Blake replied, holding up a parchment covered in names. Some had already been checked off.

"Then we're coming with you," Old Repp declared.

Blake shook his head. "A large group moving together isn't practical. Find a place to settle first, regain your strength."

"Nagini and I can manage alone."

The group exchanged glances.

Agatha spoke first. "I have no home."

"Me neither," Agnes added. "I was always wandering before…"

Old Repp simply shrugged, his pipe clenched between his teeth. Blake already knew his situation.

Bode sighed. "I lost my job, which means I lost my rented house too."

A heavy silence fell over them. In the end, except for Blake and Nagini, everyone was alone.

Blake smiled. "It's fine. From now on, we'll be our own family."

Agatha nodded. "Then here's the plan—Old Repp, you're the strongest. You go with Blake and protect them." She glanced at the others. "The rest of us will find a place to settle. I know a good spot—we'll buy supplies and build a house."

For wizards, constructing a home wasn't difficult. With Muggle-Repelling Charms, they wouldn't even have to worry about intrusions.

"I have no objections," Bode agreed, relieved at the thought of not paying rent.

Neither did Agnes nor Old Repp. They all craved the comfort of companionship.

"Alright, let's split up," Blake agreed.

He had considered taking them to the island where magical creatures were raised, but it was too remote. It was better for them to settle somewhere more accessible.

With the plan set, Blake opened another Dimension Gate and left Diagon Alley with Nagini and Old Repp.

Bode watched the portal close, eyes gleaming with curiosity. "Do you think he'll ever teach us that spell? I've never seen magic like it before."

As a former Unspeakable, Bode had spent his career studying mysterious magical phenomena. And Blake's abilities were unlike anything he had ever encountered.

Agatha was blunt. "If he wants to teach, I'll learn. If not, I won't ask."

Bode sighed. "I was just wondering…" His researcher's curiosity burned.

Meanwhile, at Hogwarts…

Dean Bohan arrived in Dumbledore's office through Professor McGonagall's temporary Floo connection. He emerged covered in soot, but he didn't care.

Dumbledore stood, smiling warmly. "Dean Bohan."

The two men shook hands firmly. They had fought on the same side in past conflicts, and Dumbledore held great respect for the younger healer.

"I heard you came in person. Did something happen?" Dumbledore asked, guiding Bohan to a seating area.

Bohan sighed. "I'm looking for someone."

"Who?"

"Blake Green."

"Ah, that child…" Dumbledore mused. "I did mention that he might visit some patients at St. Mungo's. Did he go?"

Bohan sighed again. "He did. And not just that."

Dumbledore tensed. "Did something happen?"

"Something… strange," Bohan admitted. He took a sip of tea before continuing. "He didn't just visit. He cured most of the patients in the permanent ward on the fifth floor. Then he arranged for their discharge."

Dumbledore steepled his fingers, his thumbs tapping together. "Most of them? What about Frank and Alice Longbottom?"

Bohan shook his head. "They're the only ones left."

Dumbledore's gaze darkened. "He couldn't heal them?"

"He didn't say that," Bohan corrected. "He told the healers that their condition was 'tricky but not impossible' and that he would return to study their case."

Dumbledore's eyes sharpened. "You mean he believes he can heal them after further research?"

"That's what the healer on duty said."

Dumbledore nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I see…"

Bohan studied him closely. "Why aren't you surprised? Did you know he could do this?"

Dumbledore sighed. "I knew he possessed unique abilities. I hoped he might be able to heal some patients, which is why I encouraged him to try."

Bohan leaned forward. "That's why I'm here. I need to ask him about his healing techniques."

For the first time, Dumbledore looked genuinely shocked. "You—the best healer in Europe—want to learn from him?"

Bohan scoffed. "Albus, if I were the best, those patients wouldn't have been stuck in that ward for years." He straightened in his chair. "I'm serious about this. Blake is a student at Hogwarts, right?"

Dumbledore nodded. "Yes, but he isn't in school at the moment. He's busy."

Bohan frowned. "But he said he'd return to study the Longbottoms' condition. Why would he leave?"

Dumbledore's eyes brightened. "You mean… he left because he needed something to complete the cure?"

"Exactly," Bohan confirmed. "That's what the healers believe."

Dumbledore stroked his beard. "Then he will return soon."

Bohan huffed. "You think he left to heal more people?"

"That's precisely what he's doing." Dumbledore nodded. "Since you're so eager, I'll tell you what's been happening."

When he finished, Bohan's face twisted in fury. "Those bastards! They belong in Azkaban!" He slammed his cup down, barely restraining himself from throwing it. "I suppose you have some grand plan," he muttered. "Fine. I'll wait."

Dumbledore smiled. "No need to. If Blake intends to cure the Longbottoms, he will return. When he does, I will go with him."
