"Why are you asking?" I say, then she turns away from me and rummages through the desk drawers.
"What are you doing?" Iris asks, but I hold her back.
She pauses when she opens the drawer housing my mother's book. Her eyes gleam like a gremlin that just found treasure.
Doma huffs then picks it up. I watch with my gave narrowed on only her as she places the book on the desk and opens it.
The gleam in her eyes disappears when noticed something amiss. I can tell it's the pages Elias took.
"Where ah they?" she asks, then raises the book to me. Point at the rips.
"Where ah they?" she asks once again.
I make to answer, but a wave of nausea crashes into me.
I rush off the bed and toward the bathroom. Once I reach the toilet, I unload whatever it was I had in my tank. In this case, just water.
Iris walks up to me and begins to rub my back.
I hear Doma's footsteps as well. Then I hear her voice.
