Chapter 4452 - After Modification: Chapter 3537 Research on Cats and Dogs (48)

The situation on the ground made Batman a bit dazed. For a moment, he felt like he was in a police chase scene from a crime movie, not an alien invasion script.

And that's exactly the case. Two police helicopters were approaching with sirens blaring, and the TV station's helicopter was not far behind.

The reporter leaned half of his body out of the helicopter, looking down and shouting into the microphone, "Dear viewers! This station has made a new discovery, a new discovery! The Gotham Boy, who has been silent for months, has reappeared in Metropolis! Could it be that he thinks challenging Gotham police isn't exciting enough anymore?!"

"We can see that this time he is driving a black Honda sedan, a family car…"

"We can also see that apart from the police, chasing him are Green Lantern and The Flash, and these two Supermen…uh, wait a minute, why are there two Supermen?"

"Never mind! Oh, my god, no, not two Supermen, but three! One of the Supermen is attacking Gotham Boy with laser beams! Will he be able to escape?!"

"He dodged it…he dodged it!!! Let's cheer for him!!!"

Batman slapped his forehead.

"They say Gothamites aren't afraid of death, but these Metropolitan People are not far behind! Is this really the time to be watching all this?!"

"Clark, find a way to drive the helicopters away, get them away from Zod." Batman said into the communicator.

Superman wanted to fly over to persuade them, but the TV station's helicopter was very cunning. As soon as Superman approached, they lowered their altitude. Worried about affecting the helicopter's airflow, Superman didn't dare get too close and could only let them sway in the sky.

When Batman reached the battlefield center, he finally understood why Hal said this might be a trap set by Bruce.

The young man sitting in the Honda was driving leisurely forward. Zod in the sky seemed agitated for some reason, madly chasing the car and flinging laser beams like they cost nothing.

The car kept running, and Zod kept firing, causing chaos on Metropolis's streets and buildings. Batman even suspected Zod was targeting Lex Luthor.

"Don't doubt it." A voice sounded in Batman's ear. At the rooftop of another building, Charles's figure suddenly appeared.

"That's exactly what he's thinking, and now he's heading towards Luthor Manor."

Batman widened his eyes, sharply turned the steering wheel, floored the accelerator, making the car spin around and speeding towards Luthor Manor.

Even with Batman's patience, he couldn't help but curse at this moment.

"Damn, I never thought I would be rushing to stop Batman from attacking Luthor!" He cursed through gritted teeth.

Following behind the black Honda, Batman realized Bruce indeed had some driving skills.

Logically, Kryptonians fly much faster than human cars, and trying to escape Kryptonians by car was unrealistic.

But the black Honda sped along, agile like an eel, skillfully maneuvering at every turn, always using tall buildings to block the enemy's view at the last moment.

Batman knew this trick. Those daring outlaws who fled from the police used this method to escape the helicopter's visual lock.

He never imagined another universe's version of himself would use this trick one day.

At first, Zod didn't catch on, foolishly being led around by Bruce, but he was an alien, not dumb, soon realizing he'd never catch that broken car.

So he adopted the simplest and most direct method—cut through mountains or rivers, eliminate any barriers.

A laser beam shot through, slicing a building in half.

Batman, already anticipating countless screams from people falling to their deaths, gripped the steering wheel tightly. But what fell were only the building and lots of office supplies, no living beings.

Checking the communication channels, Batman discovered during their time at Mercury Base, Metropolis had undergone a full lockdown, with citizens evacuated underground, not just hiding at home.

Batman recalled the underground roads Diana took them through to get to Luther Group Building. There were clearly more than just roads. Lex Luthor likely built an underground city in Metropolis to prepare for days like today.

With this in mind, Batman pressed the accelerator even harder. No matter how absurd, today he would protect Lex Luthor!

After Zod adopted his new tactic, efficiency indeed improved. He was now able to lock onto Bruce's black Honda and focus on accelerating, almost catching up.

But just then, another figure flew over even faster—

Previously, the Supermen hadn't acted due to differing views on the visibility issue.

The buildings not only blocked Zod's attacks but also theirs. To track Zod smoothly, tearing down the buildings was the best option. Injustice Superman supported this method.

But normal Superman wouldn't allow it. Though he knew Luthor had evacuated people, he wasn't sure if there were still people inside the buildings. What if some hadn't been evacuated properly?

Zod's violent moves eliminated their disagreement. With no barriers, Injustice Superman immediately rushed up, while Superman, seeing that there really wasn't anyone inside the buildings, followed without hesitation.

All three Kryptonians shot out like missiles. Injustice Superman threw punches at Zod mid-air, while Superman, though more conservative, used his position to block Zod.

With the sound of air splitting, the three exchanged blows relentlessly, moving as swiftly as high-speed cruisers. At one point, they flew ahead of the black Honda but couldn't spare the attention to attack the car below.

With such interference, Zod lost his target again. Though he had Super Hearing, too many people on the ground and in the air—armored vehicles, helicopters, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash—made his ears buzz despite using Super Hearing fully.

Fortunately, Bruce speeding crazily on the ground wasn't his only enemy.

Hal was the first to approach the target vehicle. Lowering his altitude, he reached Bruce's car window and shouted, "What the hell are you doing! Stop!"

Bruce, while driving, shouted back, "If you have time to stop me, why not go touch the Kryptonian ship!"

"What?!"

"This alien's base is empty now! The whole ship is intact, aside from its surface in tatters!"

"Hiss…"

"Hal," Oliver's steady voice came through the communicator, "Do as Bruce says. The human race needs this intact Kryptonian ship."

Hal sighed, slowed down, walked a few steps on the ground, then turned around and flew in another direction.

Next was The Flash, Barry. He directly sat in Bruce's passenger seat. Bruce glanced at him and said, "The Flash sitting in a car is the funniest joke of the century, haha."

"You've damaged a lot of things." Barry said, "And I'm pretty sure you can't pay for them."

"If I had money, I wouldn't be doing this." Bruce slightly rolled his eyes, "I can't be the only broke one in this world. Lex will soon experience what it's like to be broke."

"You're totally causing harm without any benefit."

"Is today your first time meeting me?"

"I'll stop you."

"You might as well stop him first." Bruce replied, looking out through the window, then said, "Even if I stop now, will he stop destroying things? As long as he wants to invade Earth, this day will come eventually."

Just as Barry wanted to say something, Oliver's voice came through his communicator, "Barry, come back, there's something we need you to carry."

Barry hesitated, gave Bruce a furious glare, but still turned into a lightning bolt and left.

The car soon reached near Luthor Manor. It was tightly surrounded by various shields.

Pamela stood atop the outermost shield, folded her arms, looked at Bruce and said, "Break through if you can!"

With that, she raised her hand, and a vine burst from the ground in front of Bruce's car, almost flipping it over.

Bruce quickly turned the steering wheel, narrowly avoiding the vine.

"Hello? Is this the helicopter channel for Metropolis TV Station? Do you see the figure standing atop Luthor Manor? Yes, that woman. She created these plant shields, she's a superpower user…"

"Yes, it's Pamela Isley, deeply embroiled in controversies over plant ethics. I heard she rejected many of your interviews. Since she's showing up today, why not take the opportunity to interview her?"

Bruce's words were clearly conveyed to Pamela by the vines chasing his car. She cursed, but seeing the approaching TV station helicopter, she chose to retreat.

Sitting in the car, Bruce picked up a cutting gun he snatched from Zod, effortlessly chopped the thick vines, and rushed through the opening.

Though Pamela quickly patched the gap, Bruce's car still crashed into Luthor Manor's wall, burst into the living room.

Lex Luthor calmly walked down from the second floor. Bruce got out of the car, tension filled the air.

Until Lex pulled out a black umbrella.

Seeing the umbrella, Bruce reeled, feeling dizzy. Harley sneaked up from the side and landed a punch, finally subduing Bruce.

Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, including the two teams of Superman and Batman from other universes.

Now they understood why this universe guarded against Bruce like fire.

Outside, Zod, who had been chasing Bruce, finally calmed down after receiving a warning from his ship.

"Damn you cunning humans!" He cursed, "Despicable! Shameless!!!"

Injustice Superman and Superman couldn't help but glance at each other.

Forget Bruce's troublemaking capabilities for now, they were indeed seeing this usually steady Krypton General lose his cool for the first time.

Why did they feel a bit satisfied?

At this moment, Clark, who hadn't shown up all along, seemed to arrive right on cue.

Watching Zod's futile rage in the sky, he slowly extended One Hand, folded the other four fingers except for the pinky, and gave Zod a mocking smile.

Wait, why did he enjoy it so much? Superman felt a bit sour.
