Karyan sat in his room, his hand was clutching the freshly picked herbs tightly.
His leg wouldn't stop shaking, not out of fear, but out of worry. Lanta hadn't summoned him yet, and the silence was driving him to overthink.
"What if she's dead?" he muttered to himself.
Looking around, he realized how it must sound to anyone else. "I will just look crazy," he thought, letting out a long sigh. "It just can't be true..."
Closing his eyes, Karyan called out softly, "Lanta..." There was no answer. He tried again, a little louder this time, but still, there was no response.
Panic started to rise within him.
Once more, he called out her name, this time more aggressive and louder as desperation creeped into his voice.
As he opened his eyes, he felt a strange sensation washing over him. Suddenly, he found himself in Lanta's realm, but it was nothing like he remembered.
Instead of the lively forest he knew so well, he was greeted by a scene of destruction.
