'....How is this possible?'
I couldn't tear my gaze away from the thin red leaf that sprouted from the ground. I couldn't believe my eyes, and upon thinking about the scene from before, a thought occurred to me.
'When the old man was coughing, a little bit of the blood spilled.'
Could it be that...
'Wait, is that even possible?'
The idea seemed absurd, yet as I stared at the scene unfolding before me, I felt my convictions begin to overturn.
But even so, that wasn't all.
In spite of my attempts at trying to move, I was still stuck in place.
I couldn't move, and all I could do was stare blankly at the small leaf on the ground beneath me.
'How long...'
Beneath the arid air, I stood while watching the leaf grow taller.
The earth spread and the thin stem connected to the leaf grew taller. A small sapling appeared shortly after. Carrying several red leaves, the sapling stood at the same height as me.
I had lost count of how much time had passed.
