GABRIEL's Pov.
In a fit of rage, I yelled and swept everything off the table, the contents crashing to the ground.
"You need to learn how to control your anger," Felicity said standing a couple of feet away from me.
"I am trying," I said through clenched teeth, "They dared to kill my wife,"
"Your ex-wife," she corrected.
I glared at her, Felicity was the only one who would dare to question me.
"When are you going to tell her the truth?" she asked.
"That's none of your business," I frowned.
"Seeing that you are so worked up about the truth, I suggest you tell her instead of hiding it from her," she advised.
I pulled my hair and slowly sat on my office chair.
"When?" she asked again as if I had not heard her the first time.
"I'm not telling her anything, she is better off not finding out about the truth," I replied.
"But her life is in Danger? Don't you think she needs to know so she can better protect herself," Felicity explained.
"Nobody apart from you and my dad is aware of who she truly is and it should stay that way," I warned glaring at her.
"My loyalty belongs to you." Felicity pledged.
"Good," I said while fonding my sleeves, revealing my tattoos.
"I'm getting married soon," Felicity announced.
I rolled my eyes, "Felicity, you don't need to remind me every single day that you are engaged to that weak boy,"
"He is not weak," she defended and continued, "He is just sweat and caring something you are not,"
I stared at her flushed cheek and shook my head, "I have to agree with you because he turned my stubborn annoying assistant into a lover girl,"
Her blush deepened, she cleared her throat and tried to remain composed
"On a serious note, you need to tell Daniella that we never got married. I don't know how you were able to convince her that I would be married to you. You are like my brother and besides you look like a proud Blobfish,"
"Do you know what a Blobfish look like," I yelled, "how dare you compare me to that creature,"
"Have you seen your nose, That how you look like, if you stand next to a blobfish I would not be able to spot the difference," She chuckled.
I instinctively placed my hands on my nose, "I don't look anything like that. Do you know who looks like that? Your fiancee,"
She throws a pillow at me, "My baby is fine,"
"My baby is fine," I repeated, mocking her, "you should go get your eyes checked because they are failing you,"
She gave me a middle finger and walked out of my office making sure to bang it as loud as she could.
I took out my phone from my pocket and took a selfie. Staring at the picture, I zoomed at my nose "How could she say I look like a blobfish? She is just jealous," I muttered to myself.
I received a call from an unknown number and I swiped to answer. I held my breath as soon as I heard the familiar voice of the caller.
Daniella's Pov.
"Mommy, I don't want to be away from you," my son cried, clinging tightly to me.
"Mommy needs to make sure you are safe from some bad people," I explained, planting a kiss on his forehead. "Aunt Ruth will take care of you until those bad guys are caught."
"I love you, Mommy," he sobbed.
"I love you more than words can say," I replied, through glassy eyes.
I hugged him one last time before letting Aunty Ruth take him along with her to a remote island safe from danger. With teary eyes, I watched them board the helicopter and waved until they disappeared out of sight. I sighed heavily, before leaving to take care of business.
I arrived at the café where I was supposed to meet My ex-husband, Gabriel, I looked around and saw that he was nowhere to be found, maybe this was not a good idea, I was better off on my own. I turned around and bumped into a hard chest.
"Leaving so soon, princess?" He smirked, holding my arms to prevent me from falling.
I shrugged from his arms, "I thought you would not come?"
"Forgive my manners, princess. I went to get you flowers," he said stretching them to me.
I eyed the flowers, Orchid. He remembered. They are my favorite. "Why?"
"It would be rude of me to visit my princess without bringing some flowers," he said.
"I don't like them," I hissed.
He opened his mouth to speak but then nodded and gave it to a random lady at the café.
We sat down away from the rest of the people so no one could potentially listen to our conversation. We stayed in an awkward silence until Gabriel decided to break the silence.
"You want my protection against those people right?" He asked.
I took a deep breath before replying, "I don't have a choice, so yes,"
"What is your price?" I asked, not wanting to stay longer with him than I already did.
"You can not be able to afford my service," he replied leaning in.
"I'm not the same Daniella, you left five years ago, I have money now," I spat out, already getting irritated.
"I am fully aware," he nodded. " Richer now and more beautiful,"
I rolled my eyes at his last statement.
"For you, I am willing to make a compromise, you just have to do one simple thing. Marry me."
"Marry you," I half screamed. "Hell no."
"Look you want my help remember?"
"I don't see how requesting for a couple of your men to protect me, has anything to do with marrying you. That is absurd," I fumed.
"Your enemy is Dark Heart and if you are under his death wish, hiring my men would not be enough to save you. You have to be my wife," He replied calmly.
"What about Felicity?"
"Will she not be offended, when she finds out that you are getting married to me," I hissed.
"I never got married to her, I lied about that so I could get rid of you," he answered, staring at me.
"Why did you lie?….. You know what I don't care," I folded my arms and shifted my gaze away from me.
"I still don't want to marry you," I said.
"That's okay, I don't want to marry you for real either, it's going to be a fake marriage,"
"What do you mean?"
"On the outside, We are going to be the perfect couple, while in private, we can continue to hate each other. That way no one will dare touch you,"
"How would a fake marriage benefit you since you don't need my money?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow.
"It won't," he smirked wickedly, his tone chilling. "But tormenting you is."
