There was a knock on the door that caught Zayne's attention. His mind was in a mess and meeting Damien just plunged him into chaos. It was just too hard to believe that he was telling the truth.
Being immortal was just absurd. "Can I come in?" He heard Venessa's soft voice at the other side of the door. Zayne dropped his pen and closed his textbooks. He was trying to study but was finding it hard to concentrate. He went to the door.
The door clicked open and he peeked outside to see Venessa standing there. She was looking super worried. "Hey," he simply said then stepped aside for her to come in.
"Is Jayden back?" He asked his cousin about her fiance. He knew she was pretty disturbed earlier pacing around.
"No, he got held up in the office," Venessa said as her eyes darted around the room. She made her way to the bed to take a seat and patted her side for Zayne to join her. Zayne sighed and then made his way to her side.
