My vision dissolved into an abyss of darkness, obscuring all sight.
When my eyelids reluctantly opened, the surroundings were strangely reminiscent, coaxing my gaze to adjust to the details.
A white ceiling loomed above, and white curtains adorned the windows, their ethereal grace catching my attention. Yet, as I attempted to move my hand, a peculiar numbness impeded the movement, prompting a voice to interject with a cautionary tone.
"Don't move your hand, Erica, or you'll disturb the cannula."
The word "cannula" reverberated in my mind, igniting a surge of questions. My eyes widened in bewilderment. Cannula? What was happening? My head swiveled to survey my surroundings, unveiling an environment that hinted at a medical facility—a healthy center, perhaps a hospital ward.
