"Daddy!"
Perry Walker immediately cheered, running over with little arms outstretched like a bird, and plunged into the embrace of Lucas Walker, who had bent down for him. He quickly pecked his father on the cheek and wrapped his small arms around his neck, "How come you came back early?"
After kissing the little one's face, Lucas Walker smiled and asked, "What... aren't you happy to see Daddy?"
"Of course not, I'm just... a bit surprised," Perry blinked, concealing the disappointment in his eyes.
He had thought that with Mommy and Daddy not around, he could sneak out to play for a bit.
But just after Mommy left, Daddy came back, and now there was no chance to play.
Lucas Walker hadn't noticed the fleeting expression in his eyes; he simply took two steps forward and reached out his other arm to pick up Gepard Walker, who was coming over, and kissed him too. Not seeing Ivana Bennett, he immediately asked.
"Where's Mommy?"
"Mommy's gone to Ebonmere," answered Gepard.
