Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

So he lied to me. The news claimed they got back together after many years of staying apart.

I was about to switch off the TV when Leon came in. Olivia this isn't what you think. And what do you think I am thinking? You lied to me, Leon. You told me you guys didn't stay at the same hotel

Who's in the damn picture?! I pointed to the screen where Leon was shown sitting with Stephanie at a restaurant. Olivia, please let me explain, he pleaded. But I was too mad to listen.

Save it Leon. I don't want to know. He held my hand but I yanked it away. You have a strange way of proving your love for me.

Leon's P.O.V

Olivia stormed out of the room and guilt washed over me. We rarely fight and this time it was my fault. She can't even live her life the way she wants because of me.

I tried so hard to avoid Stephanie but the restaurant picture was just a coincidence. I rarely stay at home with her yet she didn't complain

She had never yelled at me before, I guess she was really angry. I loved her so much and I wasn't going to do anything that can

jeopardize our marriage. How am I going to explain to her that it was just an unfortunate coincidence with her

I was about to open the door to our bedroom but something made me freeze. I heard muffled sobs.

I contemplated whether to go in or not and decided to leave her alone. Olivia wasn't the type to complain or argue, she was cool with everything. Seeing her like this made me feel awful.

The next few days she treated me like I was invincible. Anytime I see her, I feel guilty knowing it was my fault. One day, she was cleaning the house when she suddenly fainted.

Olivia! What's wrong?!

I carried her to the bedroom praying she would wake up soon. I didn't know how long it took but I eventually fell asleep.

I woke up to a hand caressing my face.

Olivia, you are awake. Her voice cracked. What happened? She asked, trying to sit up but I stopped her. "You passed out".

"It must be the side effect of that medicine", she muttered getting out of bed. Huh, what medicine? It's nothing. Olivia, what medicine? I asked raising my voice a little bit which startled her

I took a double dose of painkillers. What? Why, are you in some kind of pain? Not that much, my head felt like it would explode so I took it. And you didn't bother to tell me you were sick? It's nothing, she said going to the bathroom.

Leon? Yeah, you need help? No never mind. She came out minutes later. Am I the only one or is it kind of hot today? Yeah, should I increase the air conditioner? No I'll put more ice in the humidifier

She kept tossing and turning in bed, at one point in the middle of the night she stood up and went to the kitchen.

Curious, I followed her quietly and found her taking some drug.

Are you okay? I asked concerned.

She jumped in fright and hid the medicine in her pocket.

What are you hiding? Nothing, she said walking past me. Olivia, what's that drug you are taking? I asked, raising my voice a little bit.

Why do you want to know? She said back, matching my tone. Gosh, she was so stubborn.
