Chapter 163 - Molten Lion

Gust Staff led her army towards the portal created to return to the Land of Chivalry. She mounted on her steed. Next to her were the other three blades. The army of knights followed behind the dead. They passed through the portal and stepped onto a green and bluish tinted grass. The horizon had blue mountains with a twilight sky of orange, yellows, and reds with two suns. The smaller of the two suns was setting behind the mountains.

They travelled through the field towards a long dirt road. The knights and dead traveled in single file lines of three. "I can't wait to sleep in my own bed" Fire Sword stretched on her saddle. "I'll be hitting up the gambling dens to make some more money after I've collected my wages of course" Bedlam Bow exclaimed. Iron Axe said nothing. Gust Staff remained looking on the horizon.

"Hey Gust! What do you plan to do?" Fire Sword asked. Gust Staff was silent, "Debrief the king and get back to work" she was blunt. Fire Sword rolled her eyes, "Always the dutiful little soldier" she began to laugh at her own joke. No one else was laughing, "Well in going to eat a big meal, get a prostitute and sleep for days" Fire Sword seemed proud of this declaration and smiled big thinking on her plans.

Bedlam bow laughed, "Sounds fun to me" he said with arching eyebrows. "You need a third for your little party Fire!" He creased his eyebrows too come off as flirting and smirked big. "Not interested in your little dick Bedlam!" She said with disgust. He leaned in whispering, "Oh honey you don't know what you're missing! Your loss" he conceded and dropped the matter. She glared at him with annoyance in her eyes.

"Enough of the arguing, you're giving me a headache. We're heading to the secret pass to the palace. Do what you want after we have arrived" Gust commanded the others.

The army headed towards two cliffs next to each other with a path in the middle of it. In front was a big gate with spikes upon the outside of it. Gust approached the gate and yelled out "OPEN THE GATES! THE BLADES HAVE RETURNED!" A guard upon the gate looked down and saw Gust staring back at him. He then left the view with gears starting to spin behind the gate along with chains raising it up slowly. The massive bars travelled at turtle speed rising but it showed its heavy weight and durability.

The army then passed under the colossal gate half way up stopping with a loud click locking it in place. The army passed through with no concerns and free from any problems. The large line of the army weaved through the pass leaving the gate behind. Once they exited the long winding pass they walked into a vast field of flowers, and green long grass. In the distance was a large rounded walled city with long towers extending to the clouds. Overhead were a few dragons that circled the sky. Upon their necks were collars that were glowing jewels.

She stared at them for a moment and paid them no mind. The army arrived at the gate greeted by a large group of knights and two people in rich robes standing in front of them. An older man is skinny and tall. His arms crossed behind him he had slick back white hair and pale blue eyes. A symbol burned into his forehead a circle of runes. Next to him was a short man with a curly mustache and brown eyes. Balding saves the hair on the sides of his head.

He wore a gold chain around his neck and a fur collar robe. "Lords" Gust started dismounting and walking towards the two men. The other blades did the same as they all four bowed in front of the men. "What do we owe this greeting at the gates over the palace?" The tall man coughed, "Forgive me mistress, but we are not permitting anyone into the city at the moment. Only a handful are allowed to stay. All people have been evacuated into the mountain base as a precaution" this struck them all confused. "What has happened?" She reached for her staff upon her back to prepare for battle. "That will not be necessary for weapons! Listen before reacting to Sierra! Have I taught any of you anything?" The all four winced at his words and went limp letting their hands fall to their sides. They straighten themselves up at his commanded tone.

"His majesty has gone through the transmutation process. We have found a celestial beast to combine him with. In case things implode during the process or the beast side takes over his mind we are ready to defend all possibilities. A Blade is located on sight to create interference and give warning in the room as we speak. The new Stoic Blade was eager to prove himself and do his duty if need be" Gust nodded. "Lord, what manner of beast is he combining with to give such a warranted response?" The small lord chuckled, "Oh we found us a mighty one. A feline species that is considered one the top of the food chains in most realms it occupies. This one in particular we found in the Fire Realm matching our king's element; a Molten Lion. These species have different variants depending on the element they possess. Their forms can take many shapes and sizes making them diverse among packs. They are aggressive and work as one unit and led by one alpha. We obtained that alpha and now it merges with our king" the small lord was jubilant and excited as he spoke with pride on the turn of events.

These men were top advisors to the king and as such were privy to all going ons. Without these two men assisting the king he would not have true control over the masses. The small lord was Olaf Tupper who was master of coin and skilled at using propaganda to control the people. The tall one was a veteran warrior who served the king for many years. Captain of the guard and royal knights. He trained most if not all knights that serve the king. This included the Blades and all potential ones. He was wise, poised, and preferred diplomacy over the sword. But I was keen on using it if necessary. He had a golden tongue and used it to sway all to serve the king with loyalty and ruthlessness if needed. He was known as the Silent Knight; Stanford Mills.

Gust nodded at the two and then walked into the city. "Where do you think you're going?" Stanford asked if he knew the answer. But his old student was stubborn and she had been since childhood. Being part mythical beast didn't change her completely. Just her appearance. "To keep the kid company best to have someone more experienced" she travelled through the empty streets and saw guards stationed at intervals around the city as she approached the massive palace of blue, white, and veins of gold upon the marble white. She headed down to the bottom floor and found Con Man leaning against a wall in silence. "Welcome back?" He said to her, staring at her with a red mask of a screaming face.

"Oh fun, you're healed up. Failed to kill the Void King?" Gist accused. Con giggled and pushed off the wall now holding his hands to his sides close to his blades. "I was sent back to guard and kill the king if necessary from the shadows if all else fails" he was nonchalant and unbothered.

"Still pining over Draven? Got that heartbroken stench coming off you. I don't see why you blades decided on putting a kid in charge of you? Seems sad" he pushed past Gust hitting her shoulder as he passed her. "I'll be hiding until the king wakes" Gust curled her lips into a snarl as her nostrils flared. She took a deep breath and walked down the stairs.
