Ya Lin played her chess methodically, while Hua Yan played carelessly, as if merely to pass the time.
They played a game, which ended in a draw.
A hint of surprise finally tainted Ya Lin's flat and indifferent gaze as she looked up at Hua Yan. Her own mastery of chess allowed her to feel that Hua Yan was even more skilled. Logically, with Hua Yan's level of play, she could not win against her, let alone tie the game.
There was no reason for her to let her win, yet, intentionally, she had played to a draw.
Ya Lin was puzzled, and suspicion colored her astonished eyes.
