Like a passing tsunami, the burst of Spiritual Energy was over in an instant, and all was calm again.
In the distance, the King stood up, the power of his soul merging into his body as he gazed towards Rod, their eyes meeting in the air.
For at least two seconds, neither of them spoke or looked away.
It was only when Horus suddenly cried out, "My King! You have returned?"
The King shifted his gaze, smiling warmly, "Yes, I have returned, Horus."
Horus's tree-like face looked as if it might split open.
"What about the Lord of Nightmares?"
"Dead."
"Dead?"
"Yes."
Horus's eyes nearly bulged out of his head.
"You won? You killed it?"
"Yes."
The King's expression remained completely untroubled, as calm as if he were relating an exceedingly simple fact.
Rod looked at them with innocent eyes, pretending to take the King's word for it and indicating that he had nothing to do with the matter.
