"I'm pregnant?" the woman asked in shock.
"It appears so," the doctor said. "Do you have a childbearing license?"
The woman became shocked and fearful.
She always wanted to have a child of her own, but the city was at maximum capacity.
She wouldn't get a license within the next decades.
"No," she answered with a weak tone.
The next moment, the doctor put a pill on the table.
"Then, take this. The fertilized egg will be terminated within minutes. You won't feel a thing," the doctor said.
The woman was terrified of the pill.
Taking this felt like killing a child.
Raising the child in secret also wasn't possible.
There was surveillance everywhere, and children needed to attune to the darkness at some point anyway.
There had been times when people tried to give birth to a child in secret, but it never succeeded.
The government knew everything.
"I don't want to kill my child," she said.
