Just as Giselle stood firm in front of Kevin Cliff, extending her hand, believing she could henceforth join hands with the man of her dreams, he did not reach out to accept her hand, but with a cold face, searched the crowd for someone.
She knew who he was looking for—Angela!
She had thought that making Angela decorate the venue for her own engagement party was meant to make her suffer, but now she found herself the one in pain.
"Apparently, the groom-to-be is stunned by the bride-to-be's beauty," the MC tried to smooth things over.
Kevin sent a cold glance back, then turned to look at Giselle, full of expectation, on the verge of speaking, when suddenly—
"Uncle!"
A little one charged up the red carpet towards him, repeatedly crying out in a panicked voice, "Uncle... Uncle..."
His heart clenched as he heard the calls, he brushed past Giselle, who was still smiling foolishly, and hurried forward to embrace the child, "What's wrong?"
