Returning to the office, Kevin Cliff hadn't come in, and it was already close to five o'clock. She knew he probably wouldn't come in today, or maybe, he wouldn't come in ever again.
As quitting time approached, the secretaries outside had already begun to pack up and prepare to leave when suddenly, someone's arrival made them immediately sit upright and tensely resume working.
Kevin Cliff swept his eyes over the crowd and walked straight towards the CEO's Office, with whispers immediately following behind him.
