The two officers exchanged a glance, placing the notebook they were holding onto the coffee table and opening it—
"Please take a look at this," the officer said as he brought up a video and pressed play. "This was captured in the corridor outside the forensic lab at three in the morning."
In the video, the door to the autopsy room suddenly opened, and a young woman stepped out, walking steadily away.
The overall quality of the video was quite blurry, but the dark hole on the woman's forehead was distinctly visible.
Alexander Summers's face turned grim.
"The criminal's body was personally escorted back to the station by us, and the forensic doctor confirmed death without a doubt, but…"
The officer pursed his lips, seemingly finding the scene before him peculiarly horrifying and bizarre. He paused for a moment, then continued, "But this morning, we discovered the body was missing, and upon checking the surveillance camera, we saw... she'd escaped."
