After eating her fill of cookies, my little pingui girl went back to sleep in her high chair.
I scoped her up and rocked my little one. "All that giggling must've tuckered her out again."
"Babies do sleep a lot durin' the first couple of years. Once she's three, we will struggle gettin' her to take a nap," Dahlia said, chuckling before glancing at Sil.
Sil tried to strifle a giggle as he watched his niece sleep. "She's so cute."
I snuggled my little pinguin. "She sure is."
With a gentle sway, I made my way to her father's childhood room. Once there, I laid Anis down softly, ensuring she was comfortable. She stirred slightly but didn't wake, her little face still peaceful.
I tucked the pink bunny blanket around her and leaned down, pressing a soft kiss on her forehead.
"Sweet dreams, my little pingui," I whispered. "May you dream of cookies and adventures."
"Cookye," Anis mumbled in her sleep.
