I jump up from my small bed scared with sweat all over my body. Knowing that I won't get any sleep anytime soon, I get up to start my day. Hopefully if I get their breakfast ready on time, I won't be beaten too much. Yesterday's punishment still aches. Thankfully, my body heals on time. Only a bruise will be left there by the time the sun comes up. I can't risk them knowing though so I would just have to fake a limp. At least till I get to school. I go into the bathroom to take a bath and end up staring at myself in the mirror.
My left eye which is purple is shining brightly despite the lack of light in the bathroom. My right eye on the other hand, is a very dull green. It looks hollow and empty. I still don't know if I was born like that or not. My parents hate me too much for us to have an actual discussion about it. Our discussions usually involve hands and legs.
Tired of staring at the freak I am, I do my routine and get downstairs without waking them up. I quickly make some pancakes and warm the milk. When I hear the sound of footsteps from the staircase, I quickly take my bag and rush out of the door. I will definitely get in trouble for that later but for now I need to get to school.
