Chapter 55 - Chapter 5

To become a Historic Legend. A person in history who has managed to ascend beyond the realm of comprehension that this world has to offer. To be something more than just a person who invented something phenomenal, it's to reach the absolute peak of divinity. It's to live forever as something more than just a man or woman on paper. It's to forge and become that very concept that has permanently scarred the world and everyone in it, making some people Legends in it of itself.

That was Sam's dream when he was a child. To mark the world in a way where he'll be remembered no matter how people saw him, he wanted to be acknowledged, praised, gazed upon and so much more, however, one thing stopped this dream from being possible.

His pride.

It was his pride that held back his attempt at greatness, or he simply shot too far to see the mark.

Within that mushy mess of a mind, was still that ignorant child's dream of becoming something that could never die. Yet, a part of him wanted something else, but he couldn't think of what there was to grasp at this moment.

The two stared each other down with eyes filled with self-hatred, and a cold feeling dwelling in their hearts. It was on the verge of exploding, all this overbearing animosity in their souls. As Siren stood back up from his fall, the two stared at each other, as the cold fall wind began to pick up.

"I'm giving you the chance to apologize Father." Siren said in a monotone tone compared to what it once was.

Sam squeezed his fist as he stared at his flesh and blood with such spitefulness.

It was an uneasy feeling in his chest, but his mind was too uneasy to process this feeling.

"I said my case; apologizing won't change a thing." He said, his teeth practically snarling at Siren.

With a hefty sigh, Siren closed his eyes, and he opened them fiercely as his Void eyes glared at Sam.

Sam's eyes corroded with that same black energy as his pupils formed into a skull shape.

"Let's get this over with," Sam muttered.

Within mere seconds, the area was already engulfed in darkness, swallowing the two in it.

Through the cracks of their magical presence, Sam saw something. Something that made him angry yet guilty at his core.

It was a stare. A stare filled with overflowing hatred, as if it were built up over the years, one that could only be stacked on top of each other as it leaks through the cracks.

His eyes glowed through the darkness, giving him a nearly monstrous appearance, one that shook his heart to the highest degree.

Out of all the giants, serpents, men horses, screaming bats, and shadow monsters

Siren looked like the scariest monster he had seen.

Siren took a single step, as he charged towards his father, his cold face locking onto his target.

Azazel suddenly began talking in his head

"Siren, I know what you're thinking! You surely aren't thinking about killing him, are you? He's, our father!" She pleads.

Siren gritted his teeth as he slowly ran faster than earlier.

"Let's find out!"

Sam put his hands together into a shadow puppet in the form of an alligator, as small sparks of Void popped underneath his feet.

The shadows around him slowly twisted and formed right next to him as specs of features could be made out.

This was his ability. Shadow puppets.

The power to form creatures via using shadows as a medium for their physical form to construct.

Suddenly a giant mouth appeared below Siren, seemingly about to swallow him whole as its sharp teeth quickly snapped at him.

But before anything could happen, he quickly jumped up into the air as his jaw clamped shut, revealing twisted silver eyes staring at him from the shadows.

It was a distorted shadowy version of an alligator, as its teary yet veiny eyes locked onto Siren in the air, and dark charcoal smoke began to erupt from the small gaps in its closed mouth.

"Blast him!" Sam yelled out

The Alligator opened its mouth as a flashing light shot out of its mouth, the dark purple light, covering the sky as it hit Siren directly. The impact sent waves in all directions, shaking the very open space above them. As the explosion began to clear, Siren fell from the impact as he quickly gathered himself from the overwhelming pain.

With a heavy sigh, he lifted his hand in the direction of Sam as he aimed carefully. Void began to build up in his hand, it slowly twisted and turned into a flat line.

A wave of his hand was all it took, as the black line shot out faster than Sam could react, it destructively sliced the ground, leaving the earth around them cracking and shooting everywhere.

Not even within two minutes, Sam Thompson, A high-ranking citizen of the U.S. was defeated by his son. Sam could only bear witness to the overwhelming might of a warrior beyond his level of comprehension, the gap between them seemingly being wider every second that passed.

Siren landed on the ground as he looked down at his father, unconscious and bleeding from the slash attack, as he bleeds from the large cut on his stomach.

"I used to look up to you. I thought you were more than everybody else. I guess I was wrong."

Azazel jumped out of Siren as she looked down at their slowly dying father.

"Siren. . . Aren't you gonna heal father?" She asked, her voice almost pleading with him, but when she turned her head to look at him, she was met with a heartless glare.

Siren stared at his other half with a stare that stabbed her partially existing heart.

He muttered words that she couldn't hear with the sound of dust covering it up, but she could read the words ever so easily.

And it made her core shiver as the words he muttered echoed in their mind.

'That man is not our father."
