Chapter 3 - Mortals Soul!

[ Ash's POV ]

I seem to wake up, but I have no form, no body. I'm surrounded by absolute darkness, but I see a light far into the darkness. I began to float towards this light in hopes of finding what reside at the other end of it.

It feels like it's been years, maybe even decades. Hell, I don't know! But I've been chasing after that light for what seems like an eternity.

The light becoming bigger as what seems like years go by. I'm almost there now, an unknown number of years seem to pass by, and I finally enter the light.

Pearlescent light enshrouding my entire existence, my soul being rejuvenated by this light. My, soul seemingly taking on the form of my previous self.

My physical features all being the same as before I died, short and slicked back white hair with a sun-shaped scar under my left eye. Numerous scars lining my entire body, even the clothes I have on are before I died.

As all of my physical features being the same as before my death, I reach to the side of my head and grab where my right ear was supposed to be.

Hmm, that figures... It's not there but what's the use of a physical body when I've already become a soul.

Out of nowhere, I'm transported to an all-bright platform. Surrounding this platform, there are beautiful structures so vast in size that the thought of a human building them would only be had by an idiot.

"Hey, how's it going?"

Suddenly I hear a voice seemingly being neither a man nor a woman booming from every direction. This voice causing me to look in every direction in an attempt to find who the voice belongs to. Yet I find nothing but the massive structures around me, so I call out "Who's there? Who are you and where am I?"

A flash of light suddenly enters my eyes and as I'm momentarily blinded by the light, I hear the voice again.

"I guess this calls for an introduction."

I open my eyes after the light clears and I see a man, no... a thing made of pure light standing in front of me with no eyes, no teeth and no mouth. This thing clearly not being human, has no gender and no orifices yet seems to be able to speak.

"Well, you don't seem too surprised at my form. But my form aside, allow me to introduce myself. I am [@%@#$$^T] and this is my abode."

A screeching sound instantly entering the very depths of my soul as soon as this being had uttered its name. If I had been alive, from the mere mention of its name I would have perished.

I hadn't even been able to understand what it had said, its name sounding as though it was an innumerable number of souls wailing in pain.

"I don't understand what you just said... it sounded like souls wailing in the very depths of my soul once you mentioned your name."

"Yeah, your mortal soul isn't able to tolerate hearing the true name of a higher existence. But you can call me Adam while you're here."

"Just know that I've decided to reincarnate you, I'd been watching your little mortal antics over on earth and you thrilled me. Your thirst for blood and death has intrigued me greatly as across the eons there has been no other with a conviction for killing like yours. So, I'll give you a second chance at life, you'll be reincarnated in a random anime world."

I didn't mind reincarnating since I hadn't finished my goal of becoming the most feared human in existence when I was on earth. I'll complete it in whatever world I'm sent to and in this life I won't fail.

"So how does the selection of this random world work? Are you just going to pick one at random?" I ask the entity known as Adam.

"Well, no... it's a much more fun process! You'll spin a prize wheel and whatever it lands on that's what world you'll be transported to."

*POOF*

A spinning prize wheel materializes next to me, with a plethora of animes being on the wheel.

I reach out to the wheel and then I spin it, the wheel spinning for a while then slows down and finally... it lands on Hunter x Hunter.

"Ahh, great anime! But hey, after reading through your memories you seem to have little to no recollection of this anime whatsoever. It'll be alright though since I'll just transfer general knowledge about the anime and its system of power into your soul.

And don't worry about forgetting this information, it'll become a part of your soul meaning it can't be forgotten even if you lose all of your memories." Said the entity Adam, seemingly elated to share this knowledge with me.

"Will I be restricted by some sort of system forcing me to do tasks? Or anything causing me to follow the orders of another being?" I ask, realizing that this scenario is quite cliche in some of the fantasy books upon Earth."

[ General POV ]

"Not at all, you won't have a system to guide you throughout your journey to power in this world. I'm not one to hand out golden fingers so easily but since I've taken a liking to you, I'll grant you 3 wishes to carry over into the world of Hunter x Hunter." Said Adam in a monotone voice.

As Adam had finished speaking, a surge of information had etched itself onto Ash's soul filling his mind with information about the system of power that Hunter x Hunter abides by called "Nen".

Adam only having given Ash general information as to how Nen works, not filling him in on the entire show but making sure include the start of the cannon timeline in the bundle of information given to Ash.

"Nen huh, I'll utilize it to become the world's most feared man." Ash mutters to himself and begins to think about what his three wishes shall be.

Moments later, Ash had finally spoken.

"I'm ready to tell you my wishes now Adam." Said Ash, on his face was a wide grin with all of his teeth showing.

'With these wishes, I can become unstoppable.' He thought.

"Well then state them, and no wishing for more than 3 wishes." Said Adam in a monotone voice.

"Okay for my first wish, I'd like to be born as myself. I don't want to take over someone elses body, I want to be me and no one else. Now for my second wish, I'd like to have the passive ability to ignore the laws of practicality whenever creating a Hatsu.

And lastly, I'd like to be born into Zoldyck family of that world." Ash said, adopting a smile so wide that if he weren't but a soul at this moment his jaw would have been broken from his immensely wide grin.

"Well, I won't grant the second wish as you initially wanted it. But I will grant it so long as you list 2 conditions for it's activation that sound promising enough to me." Said Adam seemingly grinning although it had no face.

"Okay let me think for a moment." Ash said as he began wracking his brain for conditions to add to the ability that Adam may find interesting all whilst benefitting him in the long run.

Arriving at his decision moments later, Ash stated. "How about the first condition be: The passive ability [Hatsu's Practicality Negation] will scale with the number of lives I take during my lifetime, and the stronger the existence I kill the more negation to the law of practicality I receive." Said Ash, in hopes that Adam finds these conditions promising enough.

After what seemed like an eternity to Ash, Adam had spoken.

"Sure I like how that sounds so now onto your next condition, what will it be?"

"The second condition can be: After creating a Hatsu that goes against the Law of Practicality and requires the usage of [Hatsu's Practicality Negation] I will be forced into a state of Zetsu for 24 hours and if I try to utilize my Nen I will die instantly with my soul being evaporated into nothingness.

Also, I should be able to automatically know if a Hatsu that I'm trying to create is going to require [Hatsu's Practicality Negation] before completing it and be able to cancel creation of said Hatsu or continue with its creation if I see fit."

Staring at the mass of light known as Adam, Ash had included his death in body and soul as a consequence for disobeying his second condition.

In the face of an entity with powers unknown to him he doesn't falter in the face of death and instead embraces it. Listing these devilish conditions without missing a beat, after all he had already once before.

Always having the belief that death is nothing to be scared of and that the thing a man must truly fear is not living. Not having the freedom to do everything you want to do is the same as being dead for Ash after all.

"That's fine with me, I'll grant all of your wishes as they seem promising enough." Said Adam while observing Ash, a mortal who doesn't feel a sliver of fear even after setting a condition that will disintegrate his soul upon breaking the rules set by it.

Seeing that Adam, is content on granting his wishes Ash had asked him. "So, what made you reincarnate me? And why not someone else?"

To this question, Adam had responsed "I've already explained this to you, you mortals always seem to ask foolish questions even when you've already been given the answer. As I've already said before, I simply found you to be interesting. A human with a thirst for killing so intense that it hadn't been seen across time in eons."

"You are an anomaly in your world, the space-time continuum having not birthed an individual so blood-thirsty in such a long time that the amount of time itself wouldn't even begin to register in your mortal mind." Adam said, seemingly fed up with Ash's questions.

Upon hearing this, Ash had opened his mouth and began to say something. Although it was instantly cut short as an immense ray of light had once again blinded his soul but this time around, he had lost consciousness.
