If history is a long scroll, then there are bound to be some stories that leave a bold and colorful mark on it.
And there are some stories, some figures, who shine as brightly as stars, thus being recorded in the annals of the ninja world.
In the 42nd year of Konoha, the Third Great Ninja War, initiated by the allied forces of Iwagakure and Sunagakure, came to a temporary halt.
On that thrilling night, the Tsuchikage Ōnoki was severely injured, and the allied forces of Iwagakure and Sunagakure were all escorted away by the later-arriving Kazekage.
No one lingered on this foreign land any longer.
The Kirigakure ninjas, who had intervened during the war, also returned empty-handed, having gained no substantial benefits.
The ninjas who experienced that night all chose to remain silent about what had happened.
It was as if everyone had suddenly become mute. The events of that night became a taboo in the eyes of all ninjas!
However, when daylight came, both the later-arriving Kumogakure ninjas and the Konoha ninjas were left speechless upon seeing the vast, devastated ruins spanning dozens of kilometers.
"What... what happened here!?"
A Konoha ninja who had come to provide support stared wide-eyed at the enormous ruins, his voice trembling with fear.
Hearing his words, a Konoha ninja who had personally experienced the events of the previous night walked past him, looking exhausted. He patted the man's shoulder, shook his head with a complex expression, and said nothing more.
The group of Konoha ninjas who had come to assist stood there dumbfounded, watching as their comrades, led by Jiraiya, trudged wearily back to the village, their faces filled with confusion and curiosity.
What on earth had happened here!?
And so, everyone returned to Konoha, filled with curiosity and confusion.
The ninjas returned to Konoha Village with numb expressions. Although the village itself was nearly in ruins, when they set foot on Konoha's soil, their gloomy faces immediately lit up with radiant smiles.
Some Konoha ninjas suddenly knelt on the ground, tightly closed their eyes, and pressed their foreheads to the ground, as if listening to the tremors of the earth.
Others reverently scooped up a handful of soil and let it slowly fall over their heads, bathing in the dust under the morning light, their faces filled with blissful smiles.
The ninjas inside Konoha Village were taken aback by this scene, unsure of what was happening, and cautiously watched them with suspicion.
Jiraiya stepped forward and waved his hand, stopping their vigilance and wariness. He glanced at the Konoha ninjas who were making these surprising gestures, his expression slightly complex, but he said nothing.
He knew that this was their way of expressing relief at having survived a near-death experience, as well as a way to vent their suppressed emotions.
For those who had not personally experienced the battle that night, it was difficult to understand the terror and oppression of having one's life constantly in the hands of another.
Not everyone has the courage to defy the rule of a god!
And Aizen's performance last night truly deserved to be called godlike.
To oppose him meant certain death. These ninjas understood this, yet they still acted on their convictions.
After Jiraiya reported the details of the events to the Third Hokage, the Hokage's expression turned extremely grave and complex. After much deliberation, he finally made a decision.
Soon, a large number of ninjas were assigned to escort those who had participated in the previous night's battle to the medical department for treatment and rest.
A few days later.
Although no messages had been received from the other villages, it was clear that all factions had tacitly chosen to halt the war, launching no further attacks.
Or perhaps they simply lacked the strength to organize another effective assault...
Amidst the ruins, Konoha Village began to rebuild, with countless new wooden houses springing up.
"Crash— Crash—"
Accompanied by the violent shaking of the ground and a series of loud noises!
Fresh wooden structures burst forth from the ground, twisting and intertwining in the air to form simple houses that settled on the empty land.
Seeing this, the Konoha villagers standing nearby in groups all showed expressions of delight!
"Hey, Koyu, this will be your new house! It looks pretty good, huh?"
The villagers cheered excitedly at a young girl with a tender appearance.
Hearing their words, the girl named Koyu also showed a happy expression.
Her eyes filled with hope as she gazed at the new house, and then she couldn't help but glance at the brown-haired young man standing in the distance who had accomplished all this. Her cheeks flushed slightly.
"Tap! Tap! Tap!"
Suddenly, she started running, dashing past the villagers' kind smiles, and stopped in front of the young man. Clenching her hands tightly, she hesitated for a moment before blushing and softly saying,
"Th-thank you, Lord Nawaki! This... this is a small token of my gratitude. I hope you'll accept it!"
As she spoke, Koyu handed over a cute bear-shaped lunchbox filled with homemade food to Nawaki, bowing deeply.
Seeing this, Nawaki was caught off guard and froze for a moment.
He looked at the petite figure of Koyu bowing deeply before him, his expression slightly awkward, unsure of how to respond to the situation.
However, seeing Koyu's persistence, he had no choice but to hurriedly accept the cute bear-shaped lunchbox, awkwardly saying,
"Please, stand up. I'll accept it!"
Hearing his words, Koyu quickly stood up, her cheeks tinged with a faint blush, and softly said,
"Th-thank you, Lord Nawaki."
After speaking, she shyly turned and left, leaving Nawaki standing alone, holding the cute bear-shaped lunchbox, feeling awkward under the villagers' gazes.
Fortunately, the villagers all looked at him with kind eyes.
After all, in the past few days, the villagers had come to learn the true identity of this seemingly quiet young man.
Even ordinary villagers who knew little about ninjas could understand the prominence of this young man's lineage.
The grandson of the First Hokage!
The younger brother of Lady Tsunade, one of the Sannin!
And the only member of the Senju clan to awaken the Wood Release, a power only the First Hokage had mastered!
With these three accolades, Nawaki quickly became famous in Konoha Village, and his efforts to help the villagers rebuild their homes earned him their affection and praise.
They all praised Nawaki, saying he was truly worthy of being the descendant of the First Hokage!
At this moment, Nawaki stood there, holding the bear-shaped lunchbox, feeling dazed.
Meanwhile, in the distance, a few figures had unknowingly gathered, quietly watching him as he stood awkwardly amidst the villagers' cheerful smiles.
"Pfft— I didn't expect Nawaki to be such a charmer! He's already got a girl coming to him!"
At that moment, a carefree laugh suddenly rang out, the obscene tone of the voice making people instinctively want to punch the speaker.
"Thud!"
Sure enough, the next moment, the sound of a heavy punch echoed.
Tsunade coldly glanced at Jiraiya, who was clutching his head and grimacing, her eyes flashing with menace as she said coldly,
"Jiraiya, if you dare to corrupt Nawaki again, I won't let you off easy!"
