Han-bin was speeding through the quiet, less crowded roads, determined to reach his destination before dawn fully broke. The fewer eyes on them, the better. He eased the pickup to a slow crawl when his phone began to ring.
"Mr. Won. This is Yeon-hee. Where are you?"
"I'm on my way to Minister Han Min-hyuk's residence," Han-bin replied, pulling the vehicle to a gentle halt. He gave his location to Yeon-hee.
"Why did we stop?" Hee-jin asked, her voice steady.
Han-bin turned and offered a calm smile. "They're sending an escort team."
"Why are we going to Minister Han's place?" she asked again, eyes narrowing with curiosity.
"Because he has government security. You'll be safe there until we arrange something more permanent," Han-bin answered respectfully. Hee-jin gave a small nod of understanding.
"What about me?" Lorena asked, her voice hollow, drained of emotion.
