Brother Sheng hadn't lied to Wang Jiayi; he truly had a meeting to attend in the afternoon, although he indeed wanted to find an excuse to brush Wang Jiayi off.
As he arrived downstairs at the office, his cell phone rang with a message. Opening it, he saw it was from Wang Jiayi.
[Brother Sheng, when will you have time?]
Sheng Shi didn't respond and simply put the phone in his pocket. About half an hour later, another message arrived, still from Wang Jiayi, just a question mark.
Sheng Shi placed his phone in his pocket, ready to begin the meeting. However, as it reached halfway, his phone vibrated again. He ignored it and continued the meeting. Then the phone vibrated once more. He frowned, turned the phone off entirely, and finished the meeting.
When he returned to his office, he remembered his phone was off, so he turned it on and found four text messages waiting. He opened them; three were from Wang Jiayi, and one was from his wife.
